I love this timer for a bathroom fan. The timing increments are perfect. However, I installed two of these and they both died five years after installing.

These timers are solid and easy to use. I have one in each of my bathrooms to control the water closet fans. I'm getting about 12 years of life out of them before they start to fail. I find this acceptable given the cost. I like them because they are simple and not complicated to use. Just push the button and they stay on for the preset time selected.

Product is just as advertised. If you know basic house electrical and turn off the circuit breaker this is easy to install. We used it on our bathroom fans and it is so nice now not to have to check if the fan has been left on. At most it only operates for 30 minutes (5 minutes minimum). Very pleased with the least expensive unit I could find.

We installed two of these Woods timers in each of our two bathrooms in 2015. In each bathroom, one timer operates an exhaust fan (which incorporates an LED light) and a ceiling mounted heater for winter. Both timers are mounted side-by-side in a 3 aperture wall box, the 3rd space having an on/off switch for the regular bathroom light. This adds up to a lot of wiring in the box. Fortunately, each timer comes with a clear and legible wiring diagram that's easy to follow, but you or your electricians still need to give thought to how the wiring can best be arranged so as it all fits into the wall box. You may also have to use 1-2 small packer washers on the screws to get each timer flush at its exterior face. There is a small red LED light at the bottom of each timer, beside the Off position, which makes it easy to locate the timer if the room is dark. Timer duration options of 5-10-15-30 minutes, are selected by using a small button at the bottom of the timer. One press of the button gives you 5 mins, two presses gives you 10 mins etc., with the red light moving with each push to show where you are up to. Having selected you can leave the timer to run its time or, if what you want changes, you can cycle through to another time or to Off. The process is intuitive and simple.Other reviewers have said they get only 2-4 years from their Woods timer. We have got considerably longer, but having no children in the house with their high bathroom use has probably helped. Our recent purchase of four new Woods timers was an easy decision. They are still well priced in 2023 and we have been happy with their quality.

Installed this in our bathroom to control the exhaust fan. It works well and is easy to use but you may want to use your own wire nuts for the connections as the supplied wire nuts are small.

Work well, but a bit bulky so need a deep box. Maybe not much different than what you'd have to deal with for a smart switch.Feels durable, and does what I need it to do. Allows for 5-10-15-30 minute options. If I were to buy it again, I might buy a timer with longer options (1h or 4h vs the 30 min).

I put this timer in my master bath. It is used every day for the ventilation fan to exhaust humidity from showers, etc. It just doesn't last! I've gone through TWO of these timers in less than 6 years. The problem: The button you hit to move the timer selection to the position you want (usually 30 minutes) becomes ineffective after a relatively short period of time. When this happens, you have to repeatedly put the button (sometimes 20+ times) to move the timer function to 30 minutes (which should be only FOUR PUSHES). This is particularly irritating when you are crushed for time in the morning and you have to stop and push the button over and over and OVER again. I'm replacing with a different brand this time. I'm going to try the type where you put the timer button DIRECTLY--only one push needed. Maybe it won't wear out so fast. I normally like WOODS products--but definitely not this one. And yes, it is not an easy installation. It barely fits into the box.Update: I just replaced this switch for the THIRD TIME. (Got one as a gift). After burning through three of these switches in 6 years, I spent a little extra money and put in a LEVITON BRAND with direct push. If you want 30 minutes, you hit the button marked "30". Indicator lights up, fan goes on, BEAUTIFUL!Again, it is NOT fun installing theses switches, Especially in a multi-gang box (which is very common) So many damned wires to push back in. LOVE MY LEVITON!

Original review of 01/30/2011 (2 stars): These switches were seemingly well-manufactured, easy to install, and great to have ... at first. After six months, however, half of them (2 of 4) failed. First one, and then another, became 30-second (rather than 30-minute) countdown timers. The internal clock circuits apparently failed, causing the countdown to run at a 60x pace. There seems to be no way to reset or repair these timers. Email inquiries to Engineering and Customer Service of the manufacturer (Coleman-Cable) have gone unanswered. And there's no mention of a warranty in the Amazon listing or the product packaging. So buyer beware! Replacing a switch after 6 months of light duty is no way to save money. This timer has a pleasing design and is half the price of the analogous Leviton product, but the Leviton LTB30 offers a five-year warranty and is re-programmable to various time intervals (a feature that would have "rescued" this product when it went on the fritz).Updated review of 02/17/2011 (4 stars): After a recent power outage, we found that the errant switches were again functioning properly. (Our theory is the logic chips were reset, meaning a future problem might be fixed by turning the line voltage off and on again.) Also, Coleman-Cable sent us -- without comment but also without question -- a replacement switch. (Thank you!) For what it's worth, we came away happy enough to buy four more. :-)
