Good product, works well and is easy to use. I used it to filling cracks in my cork floor, where the tiles had shrunk so that a few of the seams became visible. This product worked great.

The white wood filler worked well when repairing my kitchen cabinets. The sandpaper they supplied was too rough which sanded away the repairs. I used fine sandpaper which worked better

Shrinks a bit. Few applications are needed but it's a better product than red wood putty.

I have been using another brand of filler for a few decades but due to recent price increases, I have been looking for a more economical alternative to my usual brand so I thought I'd give Risetex a try.The putty comes with two handy small plastic putty spreaders which are nice if you don't already have a putty knife and it also includes two discs of 40 grit sand paper which (as others have pointed out) is way too course of sandpaper to use on anything you want to put a nice finish on - so I don't recommend trying to use those with this product (use 120 grit instead). To do a side-by-side comparison, I drilled two sets of 1/2" holes and also crown staple holes, all about 3/32" deep in several different types of woods to include pine, solid oak, oak plywood and maple (see photo 1).The putty has very good consistency which makes it easy to spread and also sticks well in the holes being filled and is also durable, forming a hard fill and strong bond.My usual brand of putty dries in about 30 minutes but the Risetex requires 24 hours. That's not a show-stopper for me, but not convenient. The next day I saw that my usual brand cured with very little shrinkage but the Risetex had significant shrinkage and also cracks in the fill of the larger diameter holes. I sanded and refilled the Risetex holes which required yet another day of waiting for it to cure. (see photos 2, 3 & 4)The next day I sanded the second fill and all holes were filled nicely. After sanding, I decided to do a stain test to compare and observed that the Risetex took the stain very well - perhaps better than my usual brand. (see photo 5 & 6)All in all, I would say that Risetex is a good filler for small holes if you are willing to deal with a 24 hour cure time. For larger holes, the crack and shrinkage factor requires a second fill and an additional 24 hour cure period. The combination of the slow cure time and shrinkage are the reason that I can't give a five star rating and I will continue to use the brand I have been using.

I have a wooden wall positioned in the center of the living room, where my daughter placed her 75-inch television. As I embark on remodeling the house for sale, I discovered this product that is remarkably easy to use. It does not dry immediately, which is a significant advantage. If I am capable of utilizing it, then certainly anyone can. Please refer to the pictures for a visual comparison before and after application.

If you do apply heavily allow several days to dry. I found thin coats to work best and does sand well after about 3 to 4 days drying. Very small brad nail holes can be sanded in 24 hours. I had a very large area to fill from rot and it took nearly a week to dry. Large areas should be filled in steps. Shrinkage seemed minimal and the area finally sanded smoothly after several recoats. Once I learned the process by trial and error I was pleased with the filler.
