Works great, doesn't take too long to dry. Doesn't stink, worth the price. Little spatula included makes for an even application.

It does what it says it’s supposed to do. My son’s dogs chewed up his baseboards so I bought this product and decided to give it a try. To our surprise, it worked Great!! Wish I would have taken before and after photos to show what a difference it made and I had no idea how to really use this product! It’s durable, it dries quickly depending on how thick you apply it. Definitely recommend this product!! Even for beginners like me!

I don't understand why there are so many high ratings for this product. There are way easier to use wood fillers out there that will offer a much stronger & reliable end result. I've used maybe 3 other wood fillers in the past, and this one was very disappointing in comparison. This is not a putty type filler if that's what you're looking for. It's not easy (almost impossible) to shape. It's a thick liquid that needs something to help support its shape as it dries. It worked ok for very minor, not very important jobs.Pros: Cheap price. Arrives packaged with everything you'd need for a few quick & small jobs. Offers a smooth, paintable surface if sanded properly.Cons: The mixture is very runny, which makes it hard to worked with. Must keep closing the container lid while applying bc the surface of the unused content starts to dry out quickly. (This is problematic since the mixture is so runny. You may find yourself spending a lot of time trying to apply the product to a vertical or slanted fixture & forget to close the container.) After curing, the filler can be pretty brittle (depending on amount used & application). Cannot stain over it. It's not strong enough for screwing into once cured. I wouldn't try nailing into it either. My various experiences using this wood filler & thoughts/outcomes:This was convenient for smoothing out very small knots in wood before painting. I bought some cheap wood strips to use as shelf supports. The ones supporting the higher shelves could be seen, so I wanted them to look as nice as possible. I used my finger tip to smooth this filler over a few small knots before curing, sanding, & painting. The knots were invisible when I finished the project. This was not great to fill in strips/planks of wood that had complete holes in it it. (Holes that had both entry & exit points.) I attempted to use this on repurposed wood strips/planks. The mixture is like a very thick liquid, so it just ran thru the holes & dripped out the other side. Even when I tried laying the wood strips/planks on their side, it just ran down the sides. I found two ways to make this product work for filling in complete holes. Neither were convenient, though.First, I applied a thin layer of the product to a hole... just enough that it wouldn't run out. I let it dry just enough to be solid (about 20-30 min). Then I kept adding layers, allowing drying times between them. Second, (for much smaller holes, like large screw holes) I filled the hole with the mixture & kept my finger on one end until it dried just enough to stop running (roughly 8-10 min). If I didn't hold my finger in place long enough, I'd notice the mixture starting to leak out. I'd just use my finger to plug one end of the hole a little longer to avoid total reapplication. Aside from being inconvenient, this was not very effective bc I'd sometimes push the mixture in too much, causing it to push out the other end & leaving a cratered surface where my finger was. I just could not leave a fairly even surface when I removed my finger (sometimes the product would "peak" out). Even when I thought I was able to get this second method to work, the product was always slightly buldged out on the lower end & slightly sunken in on the higher end of holes once it cured. So, I would have to add a little more of the mixture to the sunken in end & waited for it to cure again. I tried heavy duty painters tape to seal one end of a hole, but some of the filler would always get pulled out when I removed the tape... even after giving it twice the time to cure.I used this on the edges of wood planks/strips that had tiny pieces splintered off. I lightly sanded & cleaned the edges first. The pieces were very tiny, so it worked well & gave a smooth looking finish when done. This worked well to give an ultra smooth finish on the short-grain ends of wood. I just sanded the ends as smooth as possible, cleaned it, & smeared a very thin layer of this filler on with my finger. Once it cured, I lightly "polished" with ultra fine sand paper. There was no need to add moulding or a cover strip to some of the wood projects I was working on. (The projects were all painted over when finished.)I tried using this on my old weathered window sills/frames outdoors. The sills are a bit slanted & needed various amounts of wood filling. This was not the product for the job. It was very runny, so it was just difficult to work with from the start. I particularly had a hard time filling spots under the sill that I just wanted to look smoother & the vertical side framing around some windows. It was just too messy, difficult, & time consuming. And based on my experiences using this on other wood projects, I decided I couldn't trust it to hold up very long for outdoor applications.Final thoughts & recommendations:Due to the runny consistency, it's way too hard to use this filler to patch up a significantly sized area. If you have a large area to fill in or vertical structure that needs filling, find a putty type of wood filler. (I've tried letting this dry to an almost putty like consistency, but it doesn't seem to dry consistently. So I ended up with little dry crumbly bits in the mixture, which didn't sand well after curing.)I'd limit this product for:• Filling in screw holes (no larger than size 10 screws) that completely run thru a board if there's no intent to screw thru those holes again,• Filling in shallow gouges less than 1 cm in diameter on a vertical fixture that can't be laid flat,• Filling in deep gouges no wider than a penny on flat fixtures (as long as 2/3 the wood is still intact beneath it & the gouge is no deeper than 1/4 inch),• To smooth out deep scratches or slightly splintered ends on wood pieces.Clean up: It's easy to wipe up any spots you didn't mean to spread this stuff on using a damp rag while it's still wet. And that's great (and not so great) bc there will likely be a lot of spots you didn't mean to spread this stuff on.Handling & durability: The cured mixture is very easy to sand by hand. But you should stick with finer grit sand paper. I tried to use a medium grit block (around 80-100) to sand down some spots where the mixture was heavily buldged out from the surface of the wood. This sometimes resulted in the filler crumbling into fine pieces. Sometimes the crumbled pieces were too deep, so I had to redo the surfaces more carefully... then use a fine to very fine sanding block over it. Although this product cures a bit faster than others, it felt like triple the work/time compared to previous wood fillers I've used. There was a sheet of basic instructions that came in the product box. In tiny letters, it said this product is not recommended for any structural type of jobs. You definitely shouldn't expect to be able to screw/nail into any spots you've filled. I wouldn't trust it after discovering how brittle this stuff can be.The product is white when wet & cures as a white finish. It's not suitable for stained finishes, but seems to take acrylic based paint very well.I was able to paint over it with an acrylic based paint (primer & paint in one). However, the paint I used was white like the filler. So, if there were any problems with absorbancy or adherence, I likely didn't notice. I've looked over areas I painted, and they seem fine. I did use a polyutherane based sealer on top of all items painted. The product was too sloppy & I didn't trust how well it would hold up on my outdoor window sills/trim. So I ended up removing it before it fully cured on those. Therefore, I can't say how well it would hold up to damp, wet, or outdoor conditions. I can't speak to how well it would work with other types of paints. I just didn't want to waste my time, effort, & supplies using it for anything other than simple tasks after trying it out on various indoor projects.Storage: I stored this product in its original container & in a plastic zip lock bag. I don't trust it to just sit in the regular container after opening bc it dries out very easily & the container cap doesn't seem to lock/screw down tight. I don't think it's actually meant to screw shut, but maybe my container is broken. It seems to snap on, then it just keeps spinning as I turn the lid. It never stops spinning. There is another plastic sealing lid inside of the container that seems to act as somewhat of an airtight barrier. Still, if this were to fall from a high enough shelf, it could make a huge mess. That's enough reason to bag it on its own.Future use: I'm reserving this for very small cosmetic work on projects that aren't too important.I would not buy this product again. I think it would be ok for someone looking to fix up decorative items, doing small arts & craft type work, or just trying to repair small indoor cosmetic damages (absolutely not on flooring, though). Still, I maintain there are better wood fillers to spend a little more money on that will be much easier to work with & a lot stronger.
