DO NOT BUY. The parts shipped with adapter do not work and make it unusable. The product images show 2 different brass/gold parts. The required hexagonal part (actually 2 separate parts: a tiny nut and threaded bolt) holds your M2 card in place by screwing both halves around the adapter and fixing the M2 card in place using the supplied screw, however the circular part that was shipped is a single piece and doesn’t work to hold the M2 card in place.

Do your research beforehand to see if your motherboard/unit will work with an adapter, but in my case, my board could recognize the m.2 disk. If you can't find the information so readily, this is cheap enough to buy and test without having to break off the perforations even in tight areas due to the angle latch in m.2 headers. It's useful to keep around even if it doesn't work, especially if you work with many mini PCs or laptops where you want to fit more internal drives.Speeds will obviously be reduced due to the adapted key change and pins (I believe you lose 2 pins because of the key's design). In my case, I'm getting about 30% of the drive's advertised performance, which is still faster than most SATA disks at the same price and plenty for most activities.There are 2 screws, 1 nut, and a tiny screwdriver included in this kit. You're supposed to use one screw to screw into the original slot location, then the nut and other screw to attach your drive to the marked area where you broke off a perforation for its size.

Had to 'side cut' some on the one corner but expectedLenovo m720q a+e to nvme 2230, shows up fine. A limited slot to use, but it can be used.Needed one extra M.2 hold down screw to mount adapter to mobo, included screw mounted nvme to adapter but perfect for me otherwise
