After spending WAY too much time trying to solder some wires together with a cheap soldering gun, I purchased these. I was able to complete my entire stereo install in less time than it took me to do 1 solder with that cheap gun. Great product. (I used an automotive heat gun to melt the solder on these sleeves)

These are easy to use connectors and seem to do a great job of both soldering the wire together as well as heat shrinking to prevent moisture from compromising the joint. Using in an automotive application and feel much more comfortable using these versus regular terminal connectors.

I installed a "tail tidy" on my Kawasaki using these. I've never installed one before and have never spliced a wire. Overall I had no clue what I was doing. I first tried to use a product I found at AutoZone that was similar to this but different. Those didn't work at all so I tried these. Such a life saver! I used a heat gun with these, and wow, so quick and easy to install while providing a great connection and hold! My bike looks great, all lights work, and everything has held up well after a month of use. I would definitely buy these again!

I've used other brands of these that work much better but also melt at a higher temp. You have to use a heat gun with these to work the best and the wire needs to be clean for the solder to bond with the wire itself. Strength wise, it's best if you twist the ends of the wires over each other before you slide the sleeve over. This will help keep the strands together better. They will blow out when heating if you seal the ends first because there is no place for the gas to escape when heating that way. The glue bonds pretty well to plastic wire jacketing and gxl jacketing, those are all that I have really used them with. For the price they work decently but I've used better ones. There is minimal flex once they are melted which is what you want otherwise the solder joint will fail and unless you have a crimp sleeve under the wire will eventually pull apart. I keep them on hand because they do work in a pinch but if it's a critical splice then it's best to solder or crimp the splice then use this over or just go with glue lined heat shrink.

Working as advertised! Using for hobby stuff. They shrink and melt very nicely with my dinky 300W heat gun/pen. Just gently turn and move the wire up and down and it all melts into place.The solder *does* melt last, so keeping things slowly moving is important to not just burn off the wrap before the inside stuff melts. Eventually though, the goo, the solder, and the shrink wrap all slurp into place like they're supposed to. Nice, snug connection too. Wouldn't use these in very hot environments like next to an engine block. (Hear me out: Solder melts!) Otherwise, great stuff.I'll say again: You can't just concentrate heat on the solder for this to work. Gently turning the heat gun or connection while slowly moving up and down the joint, the solder does melt. It takes longer than the rest. I'm sure if you just park your gun on the solder it'll melt the wrap before the solder gets enough heat to give. By the time it does, the rest will have molded firmly into place, too.This worked perfectly for me even with the smallest connector. It's like making Rice Krispies: You gotta use lower heat and a little time or they'll come out all hard and crispy. And if ya do it right, it's like magic!Where have these been all my life?

Not the best quality but still pretty good. DO NOT USE A FLAME TO SEAL THESES!! no torch, lighter, or anything the makes a flame. Theses will melt right thru the plastic. Use a heat gun and you will be fine. Pretty happy with them, will buy again.
