I nave been using HEAT SHRINK CONNECTORS for years. After attending several certified training facilities, in (AUTO VEHICLE) and (SEMI TRUCK ELECTRONIC) courses, where the (IMPORTANCES OF CLOSED CONNECTION) and (SECURE YOURSELF BY NEGATIVE GROUND OUT), to the wiring connection you are performing. You can first “”SLIDE HEAT SHRINK CONNECTOR”” upon one end of the wire well above soldering joint, perform soldering connection, After the joint connection is cool enough, then (SLIDE CONNECTOR) back over the joint connection. Crimp the connection, start in middle of the connector (**HEAT THE CONNECTOR**) using a (MICRO MINI) torch, working back and forth motion to seal the joint.

These are awesome! I initially bought from a cheaper source on Amazon at $20/500pcs. And they were garbage. The crimp sleeve was paper thin, and you could pull the wire right out with little force after crimping. They were a fire hazard. I bought red, blue, and yellow of that brand and am returning all of them, and replacing them with this brand. And don't worry about my picture showing too much uninsulated wire showing outside of the crimp part, I was really tugging on the wire trying to pull it out of the crimp for testing and slid the insulation back after crimp while doing this. Buy this brand! You won't regret it!

These butt connectors are pretty standard quality - which is PERFECTLY FINE - the best part? Buy this and toss it on your shelf, you'll never have to drive to the autoparts store to buy a THREE pack (why, AutoZone, why?) of butt connectors for $6 again! Projects move forward, more shop time, less shopping time. My old boss used to say "Buy once, cry once". After leaving the industry, I continued to do my own projects at home but suddenly without the backup of a really well stocked tool crib. Like a dope, it took me 10 years to realize I needed these in my shop, all the time. Hey, If you are pretty ya don't have to be smart. Well, guess I better get smart because I sure ain't pretty! I'll update you with my progress on that one.
