Exact replacement for a '04 x3 drivers side rear window regulator. YouTube videos show how to disassemble the door. It's best to remove the regulator from the door for easier access. You need to press the nut on the wire until it snaps into this part. The plastic levers are helpful to get the door liner off. I had to crazy glue some of the plastic pylons back onto the door liner.

I installed it in a 2004 bmw x3 left rear door window. previous was broken where the cable pull nut should stay. I had to transfer the rubber gasket/bumpers from original part to this one. one bumper did not fit (stay in) so I had to glue it in place. the other seemed to be positioned too high to let the glass sit down in the seat easily enough to snap into place. Overall, a good deal. $10 for $1 worth of plastic + $9 worth of mfg + shipping.

Does not include the 3 black rubber stoppers so make sure to save them from your damaged drive dog (see pic, 3rd cylindrical one is at bottom of drive dog). In the end, attempting to just replace this part didn't work for me as I found the window regulator to be damaged and had to order a new one. Take apart your door first and find out since new regulators come with this part. Only downside is you'll have to Tahoe up the window until the new part comes in.

If you have the skills and are handy with tools and have disassembled car stuff like door panels, this will be easy to achieve, a no brainer here, if you are not handy with tools nor are a car guy, this is not for you take your car to the BMW dealer to get it done! You have to work it, there are some good videos on how to DIY so goggle them to see what your getting into!

This item works great! My passenger side door failed about 8 months ago, so I knew exactly where to go when my driver-side door failed this week! When my old regulator clip failed, there was very loud "pop" sound while rolling up the window. If this happens to you, it is definitely the plastic regulator clip!Item works just like original, make sure to reuse the rubber inserts from old regulator clip.FYI, my X3 is a 2006, no surprises that a high stress piece of plastic fails after 10 years... Thankfully it's a relatively painless fix.
