I've been using one of the 10ft 3wt for a couple years now. Couldn't be happier with it, I originally bought it to play around with euros a bit and at the price who wouldn't. I've caught a ton of fish on it multiple 20+ trout and never had an issue. It has a fairly good action and a nice sturdy backbone. 100% recommend this if you want to get into the euro world without breaking the bank or for those blue line trips where you don't want to backpack the Thomas & Thomas in.

A good value for the price. I take it backpacking and like taking a rod that won't cost a ton of money if I break it. The action is a little slow for my taste and the reel lock tends to work itself loose. But overall, a great rod for my intended use.

Kudos to Wild Water. A great travel rod for someone that needs to fly to Muskie country, the Caribbean or Alaska. This is a very fast action rod that feels like my 9 wt and can cast big flies. At $62, with only a soft case, it’s in my opinion a great value. This is a rod that’s all about fishing and knocking around. You can make a hard case out of PVC or the like. I am giving this to my son who wants nothing more than to catch a Snook on a Florida beach next month and would like a rod that fits in a carry-on bag or day pack. To test out this concept, I ordered 3 different 8 wt travel rods (7 or 8 sections) from different manufacturers that were all under $100. This is the one for someone who needs a wind busting, really big fly casting rod (probably with 9 or 10wt line). I would recommend all 3 of these travel rods. The other two are lighter with more of a 7/8 wt med-fast action. While there may be another travel rod somewhere like this Wild Water 7 piece rod, I am sure it will cost you the price of an expensive first class ticket. This rod is unique and well designed for its function, a travel rod for big flies and/or big wind. It’s a great rod and an exceptional value.

The review is for 9/10 WT: The rod is much much heavier than you would expect from IM8 Graphite rod. On my kitchen scale it weights 6.5 oz (pic #3), compared to my St Croix Elite 9wt at 4.5 oz. I tried to pair it with Lamson Guru 3.5 and it was unbalanced (pic #1). Put a heavier Sage 8080 reel on it was just OK (pic #2). Tried to do few casts in the backyard and couldn't load the rod with Airflow 9 wt Line. So the rod is definitely 10 wt or even 11 wt, not a 9... And action is just moderate. I bought this rod for the upcoming salmon fishing trip and already thinking about returning it.

Well I haven’t used the fly rod yet, except some practice on the front lawn. I really like the look and the feel of the rod. This review is more about the customer service. The rod was delivered Sunday evening, there was a problem with the handle section. I messaged Wild Water late Sunday night, Monday morning Heidi from Wild Water replied and asked for my mailing address, Wednesday I received the replacement! I leave in a few days for hopefully a great fishing trip with my new rod. Thanks Heidi

I was so eager to see my new 11ft 7wt switch rod that when I got home and open the package I was left with a wtf!! The 2nd second section was thicker than the bottom one where the reel goes and the bottom one was glossy while the other ones were paled. I then proceeded to buy the 400gr Switch line directly from wild water to match it with the rod and then bought a 9/10 reel and went out to give it a try and we'll the pictures shows the results. I was having a little problem casting as a switch rod beginner but then everything fell in place. For the price and durability you cannot find it anywhere else and I'm hooked on this switch rod.... Don't be a fool and try to haul a fish in because chances are you'll end up braking it. I'm one satisfied customer 🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙

Update- If/when Amazon credits the cost, then I will be satisfied with the Customer ServiceOriginal- Bought Two 12 wt. 9 ft. rods- One broke on the first Salmon Fought (approx. 20 lb. King/Chinook out of Ontario). The other one broke after 5 or so hook-ups.... I feel completely cheated on these; I bough them in August to be prepared for an October trip. I had no way to use/try them until the trip- but the return window is closed. These are absolute Garbage!
