Whiteside Machine Company was founded in 1970 as a general purpose machine shop in the basement of Bill & Bobbie Whiteside's home. Located in Western North Carolina near the furniture manufacturing town of Hickory, the company was often involved in making repairs or special parts for the furniture and woodworking field. A strong commitment to customer problem-solving, a can-do attitude, and innovative ideas, along with a growing core of dedicated employees, helped the business evolve into a manufacturer of woodworking equipment and tooling. Primarily through repeat business and referrals, the tooling business continued to grow to meet a demand for quality production router bits as well as custom application tooling. this bit works great. I had a a project on hold to get this bit wont use any other brand.

This bit dulled quickly. It started becoming more difficult to use and burning the wood after about 50 cuts. I bought a new one just to finish the project I was working on.

Very happy with my collection of Whiteside router bits.The vendor shipped promptly and the item was in original vinyl pouch with hard plastic tube to protect it.

While Freud bits tend to look a bit sexier with their fancy red "anti stick coating" Whiteside bits don't need any makeup. They're insanely sharp from the factory and work great. I have $400 in Whiteside bits and love using them.Unfortunately I had to buy this bit to replace one from a set that I had only used one day. I broke the carbide off by hitting a screw in my Incra Positioner's 90 degree fence. Being stupid. But I don't believe any bit would stand up that kind of abuse. Strangely, I couldn't even see a difference in cut quality even missing the carbide, but I'm sure that one cutter is doing double duty and as irritating as it was to have to buy it over again, my set is now perfect again.
