Whiteside Machine Company was founded in 1970 as a general purpose machine shop in the basement of Bill & Bobbie Whiteside's home. Located in Western North Carolina near the furniture manufacturing town of Hickory, the company was often involved in making repairs or special parts for the furniture and woodworking field. A strong commitment to customer problem-solving, a can-do attitude, and innovative ideas, along with a growing core of dedicated employees, helped the business evolve into a manufacturer of woodworking equipment and tooling. Primarily through repeat business and referrals, the tooling business continued to grow to meet a demand for quality production router bits as well as custom application tooling. Today, Whiteside Machine occupies a 40,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility and produces a complete line of solid carbide and carbide tipped router bits. It is the biggest dovetail bit I found for my 1/2 inch routers.I am using it to construct my new massive workbench using extremely hard and dense wood Massaranduba. Guys, it cuts like hot knife cuts butter!Although I have no long term experience with this particular router bit, my experience with this particular manufacturer makes me believe it will stay great for long time.I strongly recommend this particular router bit for heavy duty needs as workbench and any furniture using massive wood slabs.

This is the biggest dovetail bit I could find. It was perfect for making a large sliding dovetail. I like all the white side router bits that I own. They are well made and work the way a tool should work!!

Quality made bit, made in America. After making several test cuts and then cutting 8 dovetails in red oak, it still looks good as new. Customer service is great - there was a problem with the quality initially, and the manufacturer took a look at it and replaced it no charge.
