The quality of this block of walnut wood is really good. It's blocky. It's wooden. It's made of walnut. All of the angles are approximately 90° - hence the block shape. If you were to remove all the blockiness of this block, it would probably be a nice bowl.

I ordered 2, no cracks, checks or damage. nice straight grain. I saw a few comments about the color....as with most cherry, it is light in color. After you turn, carve or whatever you use it for, it will turn a rich darker color over time. Exposure to the sun will accelerate the color change. I will order this again!
