I used this today along with a friend who has a similar sander made by another manufacturer. The other brand is one that I really like and have lots of tools from them. I would say that this sander is better than the one he had. The belt is a little longer. It is light weight. We were both plugged into the same plug and did not blow the circuit breaker so it does not use a lot of power. The bag seems to work fine. One suggestion is that the connection for the bag is a rectangle. It would connect to a dust collector easier if it was round. Otherwise, this was a great purchase. I have several other tools from Wen and all have been good. I would recommend this.

Shopped around and decided on the WEN 7.5 amp 3x21 sander, as I had sold a 4x21 Porter Cable sander that I've used for years which had become to large and heavy for my current projects ( retired woodworker still just producing smaller items ) it is a perfect size for my shop and for me. It is obviously not on the caliber of the Porter Cable and if leaned on will slow down but all in all so far a good buy for the money. I have several pieces of WEN machinery in my shop and have been very satisfied with the performance and quality of build. Most times up and running right out of the box with very little adjustment needed.

I just had a ryobi 21” belt sander that finally died during a project I was working on recently. There is a time and a place for high end tools but I have found Wen perfectly suitable for many of my needs lately including this beast of a belt sander. I’m building a grill station so I’m leveling 2x6 boards and wanted the biggest and most affordable belt sander I could find quickly. I went with the 24” belt sander by when and I’m glad I did. First off this thing is big and this thing is mean. A great belt sander does one thing well and that’s remove lots of material quickly and this sander does it perfectly. You can turn this upside down on a work bench and also use it as a stationary belt sander by using the included clamps and pad. I’ve changed the belts twice since buying it and the tracking adjustment knob works perfectly and the belt changes are simple and fast. Again there are times when high end is the answer but if you need a reliable, tough and affordable belt sander I would highly recommend this one! At these price points you can get the 21 and 24” models for less than a makita.

I bought this to sand some rough cut cedar boards. So far it does a good job. A very good price as compared to a Makita which would cost 4 times as much. I noticed that it weighs just as much as the Makita does which is a good sign. It tracks well and the motor sounds smooth. Hopefully it will last a long time. It comes with a pad so you can turn it upside down and use it to sharpen tools such as a machete. I haven't tried that yet. Since the price is so reasonable it seems that the 4 x 24 inch model is more heavy duty and a better buy. Perhaps more likely to hold up longer. ......One month later......Just want to add that I have been giving this sander a severe workout and the sander is doing great. I have sanded about a thousand feet of cedar boards that were cut with a band saw so they were quite wavy. You have to sand off a lot of material to get them flat which is a lot of work for the sander. On the belt sander with me it seems to work best to sand the boards down with 60 or 80 grit belts until they are flat and then use an inexpensive 1/3 sheet sander with 120 grit paper to get them smooth. They sand down smooth very rapidly with the sheet sander once they are flattened with the belt sander. The hard work is getting them flat. I like the variable speed. If you slow the sander down a bit the belts seem to last longer and it makes less dust. Anyway for the price I am impressed how well the sander has held up to what I consider a severe workout for the sander. Reviewed in Panama not the USA. I use a mail forwarding service in Miami to receive items from Amazon but that is not where I live.

Works amazing!!! Easy to use, just one issue, it seems to be built for left handed folks as if you stand on the side with your right hand over the trigger, it blows the sawdust it misses right into your face, but that’s not a complaint on the bag, that thing collects a ton of sawdust. Overall, I like this product and would buy it again

Good sander for the money, if you don't have a vacuum on it the dust comes out the motor side all over you and in your face if your standing in the wrong spot.

I bought this belt sander because I needed to strip the paint from my front deck prior to repainting. This is an excellent little unit and served my purposes well. I pressure washed the deck to make sure it was free of any debris. I found that putting on and taking off belts was straightforward and very easy. I did get a jam one time when a belt broke, but that was because I hit the top of a screw and it tore the belt. I used 40 and 80 grit sanding belts depending on what I was stripping. I have enclosed a picture before I started a section of the deck and then a picture after about half an hour. The sander did a very good job. There is only one speed, so no variable speed sanding. For the price this is a fantastic little belt sander. I would highly recommend it for jobs around the house.

~BACKGROUND~As a DIYer around the house I didn't really have a need for a belt sander. I had been using . I started building furniture and the belt sander seemed like a logical purchase. With so many positive reviews I had to give it a shot versus higher priced ones. This is my first newer belt sander, so I have no basis of comparison to other belt sanders. I have only used older, heavier models.~PROS~- Great value vs similar, more expensive belt sanders- Easy to use - putting in sanding belts, emptying dust bag (twist on and off), adjusting tracking~CONS~- Dust collection is so-so- Tracking needs adjusting more frequently than I would like- No bag or case for storage- No variable speeds (trade-off is the lower price)- No adjustable handle (trade-off is the lower price)~TIPS~- Ear protection! - I have been using the POWERTEC 3-inch x 21-inch Sanding Belts in various grits.~CONCLUSION~I have logged about 30 hours of sanding for refinishing a 25' x 15' deck and many small woodworking projects. No issues to report thus far as it still works as well as it did when I first got it. I think it works fine for small to medium sized jobs. For more frequent or heavy duty jobs or for someone looking for more features or power you will have to spend 2-3x more. Overall I'm pleased.
