I've got fiberglass welding blankets that I'm sure I'll keep using for things like protecting tires when I'm welding nearby, but for close-up work I really like these felt blankets a lot better. They've held up to all of the weld spatter I've thrown at them and they're soft and non-irritating. They're also much lighter and easier to handle than fiberglass blankets, though the lack of weight means they don't stay in place as easily if you drape them over something.
