About this item

  • Formulated as a base coat sealer to be used in conjunction with our H2OLOX, ORIGINAL, MARINE and URETHANE finish products. Together, they create a waterproof barrier while forming a protective film that is durable against common household use and foot traffic.
  • Do not use alone. A topcoat is required to fully waterproof
  • Like all of our Tung Oil formulas, 90% of the resin portion of the formula is from renewable, natural resources and VOC compliant in all 50 states
  • Allow to dry overnight before applying finish coats. Poor ventilation, high humidity or cool temperatures may increase dry times
  • Use as a based coat on interior or exterior* wood surfaces including floors, windows, doors, cabinetry, woodwork, tables, furniture, bar tops, picture frames and various woodworking projects. * Product contains no mold or mildewcides. One can be added if used on exterior projects.


Our UNIVERSAL Tung Oil Sealer (UTOS) is a high solids base coat sealer made with Tung Oil. When used in conjunction with our H2OLOX, ORIGINAL, MARINE and URETHANE finish products, your wood floors, cabinets, countertops, furniture and woodworking projects will receive a durable, rich, distinctive finish that is easy to maintain, low odor, low VOC and easy to clean up.

Title says it all. One and done with this product on a butcher block counter in laundry area. I don't need a top coat, although it is recommended to use one for overall protection of the wood. I just wanted a natural look and a good seal for light moisture resistance. It is pricey but worth the ease of use.

I just installed acacia wood countertops and use this for the first coat of the sealing process. It is simple to use and you do not need a lot! The instructions are clear and easy to follow. I appreciate how it’s VOC compliant. No complaints!!

The best thing about this product is the ease of application. Butcher Block looks fantastic. Just going to finish with satin finish!

Works great! Directions are clear and easy to follow. Only lost a star bc I’ve ordered two bottles now and they are almost IMPOSSIBLE to open.

Absolutely stunning!!! The results are WONDERFUL! I couldnt be happier. Easily applied and this sealer really brings out the beauty of the woodgrain. Could not be happier and definitely well worth the cost!

Very easy to apply. I used Organic Bamboo Reusable Makeup Remover Pads available on Amazon to apply it.I used it on walnut and was impressed. I used 2 coats as recommended for wood with high tannins. I then applied Waterlox's H2OloX. The Tung oil seals the wood. The H2OloX covers it for protection. Urethanes can be used instead of the H2OloX for protection. The H2OloX is applied with a foam brush.
