Water Hyacinth are great biofilters. Their long roots provide a hiding place for smaller pond inhabitants. They grow extremely fast, specially with lots of sun exposure. Your fish will love them. They will appreciate the shade, shelter, and food provided. They are 100% chemical free, fish and shrimp safe, and grown in nurseries not harvested from the wild.

I got out of mailbox immediately upon arrival, but the plant was completely brown. Lots of the root system were just falling straight off. I attempted to give it a chance to revive in case any of the root system was still good. After a little over a week, all roots had fallen off. I know it's probably difficult to ship plants, but this one was in a dry bag and completely dead.

First two pictures are of the blooms. The third picture is what my ONE hyacinth looks like today. The last was a very early picture of both the hyacinths.I was skeptical about purchasing plants online but I am very impressed. I got two water hyacinths a few months ago. I am new to pond plants. These little guys settled right in without an issue. I actually had to give one away because it grew too big.My pond is just a huge pot that I sunk into the ground, filled with some rocks, stones and branches. I used a de-chlorine thing as I used hose water. They’ve bloomed twice and grew about four or five times in size since I purchased them.Added bonus, there must have been a snail living in the plant because now I have TONs of snails and baby snails! So cool.Only thing, don’t underestimate how big this guy will grow! Very impressed.

The plants arrived in good shape and are thriving and multiplying in my pond.

Plant was sick the day I got it. It’s still alive but the leaves are still turning brown. I would like it if the plant came with care instructions. Is this plant supposed to float on top or actually planted in soil with a lot of water?

Still giving 5 stars because it's not the sellers fault. The plants arrived relatively healthy and lasted all summer. These really are not very hardy. They survived the summer in my pond, but they never looked all that great, and they were very quick to die off as soon as the weather started to go south. I brought them inside before it froze but by then it was too late and the already weak plant (that never really got bigger) just died. I'm in Chicagoland, so our weather is a notorious nightmare, so maybe you'd have better luck elsewhere, but for me, these did not turn out to be worth it.In contrast, the water lettuce I got bounced back from shipping and looked 100% green and healthy after a few weeks and it grew a TON and reproduced. The water hyacinths never got any bigger, were often brown and just did not... thrive.

The packaging was fine. I had two dead leaves and two very yellow older leaves. I am worried about the bulbs. I’m not sure how this will grow yet since I just received it today. Anyone know how to successfully separate the bulbs or if I can so maybe the sick bulbs won’t kill the whole plant?3 week Update: my tank lights have burned up this plant. I couldn’t save it. This plant is too touchy for fish tanks and should have a warning!!!

The plant I received was incredibly small -- with brown and yellow leaves. I was so disappointed with the plant I received, I bought another water hyancinth from John's Pond Plants. A world of difference. The plant was vibrant green, was already flowering, and was at least 3x the size as the plant I received from this seller. Very poor quality -- purchase from someone else. John's Pond Plants is great, I recommend trying them.
