The cover looks like it would be acceptable, but I had the touchup paint so I just patched the wall and did not need the extra cover.

The trim kit fit perfectly, which was a relief since I was dreading having to deal with any gaps or mismatches. Installation was straightforward, which is always a plus when you're not in the mood for a long project. However, I had to dock it a star because it doesn't come with a backplate, so I had to drill through the cover to install it, which was a bit of a hassle. Despite that, I'm quite satisfied with the product; the price is reasonable, and the fit is phenomenal. The cover really enhances the look of the thermostat, giving it a clean, finished appearance.

This back-plate is fine, but makes the installation unnecessarily difficult.Many others out there provide a metal back-plate that more easily allows for a smooth installation, which should be fairly straightforward to begin with...it's only a back-plate. Once you have it up, it looks fine and covers any mistakes that may have been there.
