I have a 15 year old Whirlpool Quiet Partner II. The seal got old & the dishwasher started leaking. It would have cost me over $60 for a new door seal from Whirlpool. I'd buy another one at this price if it leaked again. It's thicker than the original and needed to be cut to fit. My door closes a little harder for now anyway, but it works

I only wish I had tried this seal before SEVERAL others that either did not fit and were returned or were VERY difficult to install and caused the door to not close properly. Not to mention they all cost as much as 3x what this one does! $10 is fantastic. This one works perfectly! I am using it on an older Maytag model MDB7749SAM1. Seals completely (no more leaks) and the door closes easily! Although I did keep the door closed for a few hours before using it, as many users suggest, I did not need to, you could tell right away it closed properly. It also is VERY flexible unlike several others. Saves your fingers! OK there is a hard part but this IMO is true for EVERY other seal out there. It is a pain to install-they all are IMO. Easy install is not really accurate though reasonable. Be prepared to spend some time doing it right-slowly. I found the center, started from the top center and worked around one side and then the other. When done I trimmed the excess at both bottom ends. I left about 2 inches either side at the bottom R/L as this was how the original seal was. If you own the Maytag model above, this is the seal for you, hands down!

This gasket was easy to install, inexpensive, ($11), no service call needed. Plus Whirlpool has a YouTube video - short with minimal extra "talk." There are other videos.I do recommend starting the installation of the gasket under the locking mechanism attached to your counter. This way you can divide the gasket into 2 equal parts. Take your time installing the gasket into the 2 curved sections of the dishwasher frame. Make sure both sides are flat - not "pulled" toward the interior of the dishwasher. Slowly press down on the gasket as you are installing it into the channel. Once installed, return to the top middle of the dishwasher and press again the gasket - slowly, inch by inch. I tested the dishwasher by placing two small pie pans with paper towel squares at the bottom of the dishwasher right and left sides.I had a drop every minute or so, I then pressed the gasket again using the flat part of a dinner knife handle. NO LEAKS!! Be patient. Good Luck

This seal was about a foot longer than my Kenmore needed. Installation was simple. After removing the old seal and carefully cleaning the grunge and soap scum that had accumulated around the perimeter of the door, I moistened the length of the new seal with water and a little dishwashing liquid. My only concern was that I had not paid attention to the position of the little flap that forms the seal. Should it point outward towards the edge of the door or inward toward the interior of the dishwasher? There were no instructions provided. Perhaps it would have made no difference, but I opted to have the flap point towards the interior. It seemed there was less risk of it getting pinched that way. In any case, it did not leak. And I was pleasantly surprised that the effort required to close the door increased only slightly.

Worked great once it was installed although had to stretch the gasket to fit. When I first installed I started in the bottom left and worked my way around and then cut the excess off from the right side. After I cut it I noticed the gasket had slipped out of the groove in the upper left corner and was a little short. Luckily I was able to stretch it a little more to make it work. Recommend you not trim the gasket until fully installed.

This gasket was easy to install but only worked for maybe 2 wash cycles. Granted, the water doesn't pour out like before, but there is still water leaking. I think this gasket is too thin - it was not identical to the original even though it is supposed to replace the original. Try to find a better match. Don't buy this one.

four installation tips---first check to make sure the seal is the problem. My leak ended up to be the hot air vent at the top left of the door. Water leaked thru the gasket inside the door and came out the bottom looking like a seal leak. Second the lip of the seal faces inward. Third, locate the seal at the bottom of your door before installing. On the whirlpool this seal is a flap integral with the door. The new seal MUST overlap this door seal on the bottom or there will be a leak at that location. Fourth, the new seal has three ridges along the v-shape portion that goes into the groove on the dishwasher. I only pushed the seal in as far as the second ridge, then closed the door for an hour or so then ran a hot wash. Sealed totally. My first try had a slight leak at one location when I pushed the seal all the way in initially. My 10 yr old door is probably a bit warped.
