I researched a lot of Snow Cone machines and ended up deciding on this one. I love that you can make 2 different types of snow cone ice, crunchy and snow like. This was such a hit at the party and I will continue using it for birthdays and other events. Its perfect for Spring and Summer time. I currently have the tiniest kitchen with barely any counter space but once I move into a new place, this will have a permanent spot on my counter for snow cones on demand. I used both cubes from the fridge as well as bags of ice from the store and this machine had no issues with shaving it.

Have had this machine for 2 yrs now. It has stood up to many sno-cone creations. Motor is very durable. Unit body construction is solid.Suggestion for improvement would be to enable easier cleanup as holding tray is small and excess water/ice gets trapped in small crevices. Other than that, this unit suits my requirements.

Being pregnant during the summer in AZ has been difficult but since I bought this it's been a breeze the fine setting makes snow Consistency and I'm glad we spent the money on this instead of renting one for our babyshower. We have used it for our babyshower plus 2 birthday parties and it works like a charm

This ice crusher has really been a hit. We’ve used it by carnivals and birthday parties as well as a day camp making 100’s of cups and it’s still going strong. It’s Very easy to use. Zero clean up just let the water drain out through a drain hole and I wipe out the inside with a paper towel to prevent rust. ( not sure if you need to) this machine is heavy and has a great appearance just from the looks alone the kids were excited. The thickness and fineness of the ice is adjustable which is great depending on what kind of drink you want to make. The ice compartment is large enough that you can make several cups at a time. The blades are strong enough to break apart larger pieces if ice and there is a reverse button in case any ice gets clogged. You won’t regret this purchase excellent machine!

The VIVOHOME Electric Ice Crusher Shaver Snow Cone Maker is a good general purpose ice crusher/shaver for home or light commercial use. At its coarsest setting (most counter-clockwise setting of the dial) it provides crushed ice at about the thickness found in soft drinks sold at a typical fast food establishment, and it does it fairly quickly. But as you begin to rotate the dial toward the finer setting (i.e. most clockwise setting), it crushes it slower and slower. And if you turn the dial to the full clockwise setting (i.e. as far as it will go), it doesn't crush anything. It just makes noise like it is crushing. I am still looking for the best setting to produce finely crushed ice for snowballs while not sacrificing speed and efficiency of crushing. But I would assume that if you want that very finely crushed ice for the best Hawaiian shaved ice, you probably will want to buy a commercial ice shaver built just for that purpose. A general purpose ice crusher like this one is going to be a compromise between producing the more coarsely crushed ice for drinks and the more finely crushed ice for snowballs.

FYI, not Italian ice shaver but great for snow cones. I bought this ice shaver because my wife loves Mexican shaved ice. This machine is so easy to work. Just fill the top with ice from your fridge, press "ON" button and in 2 seconds I had 4 cups of shaved ice. This machine is heavy duty. Would highly recommend for Summer or if you want to make snow cones for a party. Shaves ice extremely fast. It has an adjustment for thick or fine ice.

It’s just day one , but so far my teen is loving it - quarantined with mini fridge and slush maker in his room - earned for doing his school studies well from home . Don’t expect this to be whisper quiet it’s crushing ice I don’t think that’s possible , my cat sharted himself when we turned it on today for the first time .
