QualityThe pump is mostly plastic, but from what I can tell is made from a high-quality plastic that should last for quite some time. I am not concerned with it. It feels really nice and sturdy. I do wanna address the other review that showed a Picture of their tank bursting with water I believe that was due to overfilling the tank with sand or not paying attention to the pressure. I do not see my tank bursting anytime soon. Maybe they could have gotten a faulty one that got damaged in shipping.Ease of useThe product was overall very simple to set up and get running within less than 30 minutes. The instructions were clear and cut to the chase. I do recommend watching a sand filter pump on YouTube to get familiar with the many different options as there are many that go into detail on what each function does on the multi valve. The pump has a 24 hour cycle option. You can turn on and off if you want. I leave mine on keep in mind the moment you turn on the pump at whatever time of day it will turn back on that exact same time every single day I have mine on at 8am. Again, if you do not want it to turn on every day, all you have to do is just press the 24 hour cycle button and it will have to be a manual on and off process after that.Flow and performanceThis pump is by far the best that I have seen for the price. It literally looks like a full size pool pump for underground pools, but on a miniature scale, the motor itself has an aluminum metal casing with heat fins and also a fan included to keep the pump nice and cool, there is barely any noise emitting from the motor. The family sometimes does not even notice the pump is on. That’s how quiet it is aside from seeing the massive water flow moving. The pool pump is really great. It moves more water than any other pump that I have had in the past For the price it is great. It does come with filter balls, but I decided to use sand instead I did not really notice a difference and performance or water flow when I filled it up with sand.OverallThis pump is a great choice. If you’re in the market for a high-quality pool pump that will last you for quite some time. The price is really great. You can’t beat it. Out performs other pumps that I have seen on Amazon spec wise. I have no regrets purchasing this pump, even if it does fail me in the future I will look to buy another one.

First off I am a construction guy. Bought the 12 to clean an Intex 4'x15' Easy Set for the kids this summer since the cartridge filter Intex provides is ridiculous so I oversized this one thinking I might not have to use it as much. It's on all the time. Putting the pump and filter together, could not thread the pressure gauge without it leaking as if the threading didn't match. The gauge is metal and the housing plastic so I was afraid to crossthread the thing and have a bad leak so didn't use that. The hose connecting filter and pump is so long with pump in the holder bracket that it created so much tension on the plastic hose connector parts that the hoses started to leak so I had to remove the pump from the holder bracket to ease the tension and it was fine. Worked well with the filter balls that came with it for a few months then the pump housing started leaking as in the photos. I'm not about to start taking the pump apart to fix the leak so I guess I'd recommend you consider it disposable after one season for the money you pay.

We didn't even open the pump that came with our Bestway 16' x 48" above ground pool. We read the reviews and knew that it would be junk, so I had this one ordered and ready to go after we got the pool up. It's quiet and very efficient and the price was right. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is the instructions. They are terrible. We made a couple of mistakes when putting it together but I noticed them early on after we started it up and we were able to correct them. Be sure to have the valve lever facing on the pump side set at 1 Filter. We had it opposite so when i thought I was backwashing, i was really filtering, but I caught it. Be sure to use hose clamps and tighten them as tight as they can go because otherwise there will be leaks. Use the round plastic piece for sure when you are putting sand in the tank, and use a cup or something to pour it in. Wipe the crevices out so there is no sand in them before you put the top on. We are very happy with it and recommend it!

There aren’t a lot of reviews on this pump so I was a little concerned about ordering this pump for such a great price. So far, this pump has been amazing. It’s cleaning my poor pool right up and it came with everything you need to set it up including filter balls and Teflon tape, which was really nice. They also delivered the pump 3 days earlier than expected. Highly recommend and will update this review if I run into any issues. But so far, no complaints here!

Arrived earlier than expected and works very well. Pumps with about 8lbs of pressure and does a great job keeping the pool clean so far. I’ve used it about a week and am very pleased with my purchase. If you have one of the intex above ground pools and are still using the pump that came with it I highly recommend this. Also it comes with filter balls, I thought that was really nice because I wasn’t expecting them and didn’t have to go get sand. Btw if you have any leaks make sure gaskets are in place where applicable and tighten parts and clamps until they stop leaking. The hose clamps need to be really tight but I have absolutely no leaks after re tightening everything. I added this because I seen a review where someone had issues so hoping this helps

Numerous reviews talk about leaks when connecting. I had several leaks and it took a few tries to resolve them but once you get it going, this if fantastic. Quiet and powerful. I love the timer allowing you to schedule time and duration it runs for. Great deal for the price.
