As most of you probably already know, this is a fun little lens. It's barely larger than a body cap, has the slick integrated lens cover, and manages to squeeze autofocus into that tiny package. Sharpness is remarkably consistent from corner to corner in my chart tests - as sharp or sharper than any other pancake out there with the possible exception of the Fujifilm XF 27 or Voigtlander options. It doesn't quite have the microcontrast and color quality as those competitors but it's no slouch, and for the price I have zero complaints. I wasn't expecting this level of clarity for under 100 bucks. The fixed f/4.5 aperture doesn't bother me either. One of my other favorite street lenses is the AstrHori 14mm f/4.5. I think that aperture strikes a great balance between functionality in most light and good sharpness with just a little character across the DOF. It isn't a low light monster or anything, so temper your expectations in low light and expect to crank your ISO.On the downside there is no manual focus option, so trying to milk what little bokeh/defocus you can out of the lens can be tricky, as you have to use single point AF and nail your spot. Also there are no filter threads so you can't use any ND filters in bright light, or a CPL or anything, which is something that I find very useful on the AstrHori f/4.5 lens. Next, the AF isn't the greatest. Even in good light and with static subjects the AF hunts a bit and may take a couple tries to lock, especially if there's not good contrast in your focus area. Forget about any complex focus tracking, or even using basic AF-C in most cases. Again, not surprising given the price point. Just be realistic with your focusing expectations and you'll be ok. Lastly, the MFD and close-up focusing aren't great so don't expect to get right up on your subject with this lens. It needs a little more room to breathe than you might expect. All in all it's a great street lens, and it's totally pocketable on smaller bodies like an X-A, X-E or X-Tx0 series. Definitely a screaming bargain, despite its flaws.

I got this lens specifically for rising my bike and during transit. It fits perfect in my pocket (attached to Fujifilm xt3). The clarity has been quite impressive.

Good concept but bad product. The AF does not correctly focus and you have to turn off the camera to reset. I used it on my XT50 so there should have been no issues due to the age of the camera. I tried it on multiple fujifilm cameras and the same thing happened on all of them. There is no current update so that is not an issue as of now. Save your money and buy something better. It does not fill the void of the XF27, or any other manual focus 27mm lenses. I returned this item within two days.

It’s a great lens for the price. I am happy with it. It’s also the latest ver of this model lens that works with the X- Pro3, witch is what I have. I did not know the first ver did not work with it. I’m sure the Fujifilm 33 is better but this is the first non-Fuji lens I have. I really just needed it for a family photo shoot at a school in a small location. I used this and the Fuji 50mm f1.0, great combo to carry. The ONLY problem is the focus area needs to be on face detection or if using spot make it small or it will focus the background.. this was a problem for me but it worked out. APS_C_USER on insta to see the photos.

I own the viltrox 33mm and fujifilm 16-80, and 50-140 & 1.4tcThe viltrox 33 is my favorite so far for crazy high resolution basically no grain photos. Turn on mf red focus peaking with focus preview. Processed with capture one express. You can't quite get the macro like shots you want... maybe with the extender tube. Really this and the no OIS is the only complaints about the lens. Build quality is excellent. Be sure to update the firmware of the lens. For the price you would be crazy not to get it.The 16-80 is the most versatile with oisthe 50-140 needs a lot of light, basically outdoors only or with flash & costs a fortune.

I'm a hobbyist when it comes to photography. I really like the results from this lens. I have a Fuji XT-3 camera, it fit the camera with no issues. I read and watched reviews for this lens before purchasing. It is great for the price compared to the Fuji 35mm/1.4 ($600) or 35mm/f2 ($400).

The price seems to come up a lot with this lens at just $280 U.S. but don’t let that fool you into thinking this is somehow not a good lens. Comparing it to the “more than twice as expensive” Fujifilm XF 35mm 1.4, this Viltrox lens just plain better. You can actually use the Viltrox for video. The autofocus is outstanding, very accurate and quiet. The lens is sharp at 1.4. Chromatic Abberation is handled well here and over all there isn’t much not to love with this lens. If you’re looking for that 50mm equivalent field of view (49.5 in this case) give this one a try.

I've tried a number of lenses on my Fuji X mount cameras, and this one is no slouch. Just today I compared it by taking the same photo vs. the XC 35mm (which has supposedly the same guts as XF 35mm) and the results were even; in some cases I even preferred the Viltrox, which has the benefit of f1.4. However, the aperture ring is the deal-breaker for me. I was pleased at first that it is rather "tight," so it doesn't just turn when the wind blows on it. However, I know about myself that I don't want to be super careful to not turn any dials or press any buttons; I use as few function buttons as I can so can just grab the camera, set the main settings I care about, and shoot. But unfortunately, I found myself turning the aperture ring without knowing it. But, if you think that wouldn't be a problem for you, get this; you'll get a great lens!
