I use my 20mm prime lens a lot. Five weeks in England and I rarely changed lenses. I worked for 3 decades using a tiny Nikkor 20mm f3.5. I really like that lens and its faults. But this lens blows away several other Nikkor S lenses. Sharp in the corners wide open. A beautiful color rendition and sealed for the outdoors I can’t recommend this lens enough if you want a wide-wide. 🌹

These are expensive, but I just had my first photo shoot with the Northern Lights and the equipment worked great. Recommend a little tutoring if you are new to the process.

If you're in the market for a high-quality wide-angle lens, the Nikon NIKKOR Z 20mm f/1.8 S is an exceptional choice. As a happy user, I found this lens to be a versatile and powerful addition to my photography toolkit.Image Quality: The sharpness and clarity of the images produced by this lens are outstanding. Even at its widest aperture of f/1.8, the lens maintains impressive edge-to-edge sharpness, making it perfect for landscape, architecture, and astrophotography.Build and Design: The lens is well-constructed and feels solid yet lightweight enough to carry around for extended periods. The weather-sealed design ensures it performs reliably in various environmental conditions, which is a huge plus for outdoor photographers.Performance: The autofocus is fast, silent, and accurate, thanks to the stepping motor. The lens also handles chromatic aberration and distortion very well, delivering crisp and clean images with minimal post-processing required.Bokeh and Low Light: The f/1.8 aperture allows for beautiful background blur (bokeh) and excellent low-light performance. This makes the lens suitable for both artistic shots with a shallow depth of field and shooting in dimly lit environments.Value for Money: Considering the superior optical performance and build quality, the Nikon Z 20mm f/1.8 S offers great value for money. It is a worthwhile investment for anyone serious about photography. In conclusion, the Nikon NIKKOR Z 20mm f/1.8 S lens is a top-notch wide-angle prime that delivers in every aspect. The image quality this lens produces is just phenomenal. The lens is well-built, lightweight, and compact. At its widest aperture of f/1.8, I did not need to crank up the ISO beyond 300–400 for bright and clear photos of the night sky. The images are sharp. The only reason I'm not going to keep it is because I am trading up to the 14–24 mm f/2.8 lens. I found the 20mm focal length a bit restrictive. Otherwise, for the money, this is a fantastic lens.

This wide angle lense is easily the best lens I have ever used. The image quality is excellent and it's perfect for automotive photography, especially interior shots.

The lens box felt like it was opened earlier further the country of Origin was Taiwan (as advertised) but the lens I received had the country of origin - China.I could not return the lens as I had a journey next day and I had to carry that lens.Excellent lens but not the seller. Thus, before getting this kind of products online just check your nearby stores for brand new lens and sealed box packing. I do not feel its a new lens but I had no other option.

Dentro de la serie Z, es de las mejores opciones para foto de arquitectura. Gran apertura y buen distancia focal. Para video, casi no tiene focus breathing, lo cual es muy bueno también

The 20mm f1.8 is just another world leading Z-S lens. It is razor sharp, center to corners, wide open! It controls all the usual lens aberrations. Bokeh is smooth and creamy, for a 20mm lens. Build quality is top notch, and it is weather sealed. What's not to like?

Very sharp, very-good coma characteristics. Light weight and takes filters. If you do a lot of landscape photography this is a fantastic lens. I reach for this more than the Sigma 14mm 1.8 art lens which is wider and allows for longer exposures of the milky way, and I reach for this more than the Sigma 40mm 1.4 art and Nikon 50mm 1.8 s lens which have (slightly) better coma performance wide open but not always the right view for captures with a lot of the milky way galactic core and arm. I'm very much a beginner but this lens really opens up a lot of possibilities.

Good: Sufficient sharp; low weight; goes smooth on Z7 compared to other Nikon lenses made in China; auto focus (pin point) on stars works very good; seems to meet typical MTF spec; only very corners soft at 1.8 - 5.6; top half was not as sharp as bottom half (no problem , if you set AF Fine Tune=OFF and use single point on your subject you will be fine or stay > =F5.6 for landscapes ), 77mm filters, in case you need it; close focus is excellent from 2-3 inches to inf, which is very important for wide angle lenses; good color representation.Expensive compared to the F 20mm/1.8 Used before.Good for my friends to use - best 20mm Nikon lens IMO (50mm Z is still a little better)Sharpness doesn't make good pictures (may be more so in astro-photography).
