Delicate, lacy designs and subtle sweetness make pizzelles excellent accompaniments to a rich coffee or cappuccino. With intricate patterns, these 3-inch cookies look difficult to make, but a child would have a great time printing them out: you just pour in the batter, close the lid, remove, and enjoy. A ready-light tells you when the baker is ready, and a steam guard protects hands. For added sophistication, pizzelles can be shaped into cones or cups when they're still warm--try filling a fluted pizzelle with liquor-flavored whipped cream for a more decadent dessert. The pizzelle baker comes with instructions and enough recipes to transform your kitchen into a sweet-smelling Italian bakery. --Laura Cuthbert

These 4 "Quattro" pizzelles come out perfect. Really love this little maker and you can make several at once. They are pretty small and if you want to roll them for cannoli or cone dessert they are small. But for just plain pizzelles it is perfect.

This is one of the best pizzelle makers I've ever owned. It's the 3rd baker I've purchased through the years and would definitely recommend it! It's durable, a snap to use & clean. Great little recipes included!

I JUST THROW OUT THE VILLAWARE PIZZELLE BAKER. IT DOESN'T HEAT EVENLY AND PIZZELLE WERE BURNT IN THE CENTER. THEY ALSO STUCK. I DID NOT CONSIDER THIS A NONSTICK PRODUCT. DISAPPOINTED IN THIS PRODUCT AND WILL LOOK FOR ANOTHER BRAND TO PREPLACE IT.

First off, let me state I've been making pizelles with Villaware bakers since I was a child. My grandmother owned one of their first pizelle bakers, and the unit lasted her for 30+ years! Take care of villaware products and they will take care of you. :)Secondly, this little gadget is perfect for the Christmas cookie baker who likes to give out tins. For years I would use a full size 5 inch pizelle baker and try to figure out the proper amount of dough to drop on the iron in order to make slightly smaller pizelles that would easily fit in my cookie tins along with a managery of other cookies. This takes out the guess work and it saves a lot of time. Making 4 at a time in about 1 minute definitley beats only making 2 'slightly smaller' pizelles on a full size iron.SO! Most importantly, if you are looking to make the full-size traditional-size pizelles OR if you are wanting to turn your pizelles into 'ice cream cones' by rolling them... this is NOT the baker you want. You want the baker that makes 2 at a time. BUT... if pizelles the size of your average chocoalte chip cookie is what you are looking for. Click the ADD TO CART botton right now! :)New at trying pizelles? Use the inclosed recipe book. It even includes the original (no kidding!) recipe my grandmother used for years. This is the real deal. Straight from Italy. :) Oh... and a few side notes to newcomers to pizelle baking: I suggest rubbing down the iron with a stick of margarine. The baker claims to be non-stick, but I have yet to see a baker that doesn't start having issues toward the end of a batch due to heat. This little unit (and all other pizelle bakers out there) gets HOT! Also, unlike other cookie baking, you don't want to make your dough ahead of time and refrigerate it. Make your dough right before you are ready to use it. Also, a no-fuss no-muss shortcut is to get a pastry bag and fill it with the dough. Use the pastry bad and a pastry tip as your 'dough dispencer.' You'll use 'every last drop' and have less to clean up versus dropping the dough with a spoon or cookie baller. And one last thing... don't be afraid to experiment! The original recipe (with italian anise oil) is not the only way to make a super yummy pizzelle! Try coco powder, tahitian vanilla extract, or even amaretto. Have some extra time on your hands? Try drizzeling them with chocolate (dry for about 15 minutes on wax paper and store in an air tight container). They'll be a hit!Happy baking!

No thermostatic control. Does not heat uniformly. Pizzelles are dark in some places, light in others. Is most definitely NOT non-stick...count on the first two batches becoming firmly affixed in every tiny groove, even when oiled well. Have a firm toothbrush handy and lots of patience.

It would have been great if Amazon actually ever sent it. They tell you it will ship for free, they dont tell you that the estimated ship date would be 55 days!

The other reviews are correct, but no one warns you that these are not the normal 5" pizzelles as Amazon implies with it's "doubles as ice cream cones" bullet. These are 3" circles that are really too small for anything except tiny snacks. Curled into bowls they hold a bit over an ounce (30cc) so whatever dessert you make it'll be tiny. On the other hand they taste great and if you put a very small scoop of ice cream, 2 or three red raspberries (3 black raspberries wouldn't fit) and a bit of your favorite sauce, you've got a great thing. It would take at least 3-4 to satisfy the average guy, though. Unless there's some reason you want tiny, I'd go with the 5" pizzelles.
