Great iron, made to last. The pizelles come out as thin and crisp as we had hoped. Be sure to follow the enclosed directions to keep it from sticking, especially when first using.

This replaced a very old iron I received 40 years ago. This iron is very study and heats evenly. Heat does escape from around the handle so be careful. This is something all irons do though, I am very happy with this product. Made 100 cookies first time out.

I was worried that the pizzelles would stick since it doesn't have a nonstick coating, but they slide right out! It heats evenly, and with a consistent cooking time so you can get in a rhythm making big batches!

received item, but one of the feet was loose in the box. I will need to find a screw that fits. Have not used it yet.

Firstly, item was received broken and therefore returned . Upon closer inspection of the item however, the quality was not as appeared in Amazon catalogue and dd not seem up to the task for lack of sturdiness and metal finish.I would not recommend this item.

BEWARE!!!! DO NOT PURCHASE FROM the Amazon Seller - URBANINSPIRATIONS!!!I bought this EXPENSIVE pizzelle maker thinking the investment would be positive. Instead it has been a DISASTER!!!!. I followed ALL seasoning instructions and WHAT A MESS!!!And this thing is IMPOSSIBLE to clean!!! The plates are non-removable and the item is non submersible. When asking Urbaninspirations for support, they were useless!!! DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!!!!!

When I received the Pizzelle Iron (the polished aluminum) I was impressed just looking at it. It is by no means what one would call fancy -- no buttons, lights, etc. - but at the same time you just know that it is a well made, quality item. Think "old money". The top and bottom edges of the iron line up perfectly, the decorative stamped panel on top is sits perfectly within the flange of the cast aluminum piece. You have no play of loose pieces as you open and close the iron. I'm actually amazed that you can buy such a beautiful item, made here in the United States. Yes, it cost a little bit more; instead of $40 or $50 it was $65, but it comes with a 5 year warranty, so not much of a premium at all. Oh, and it makes the most delicious pizzelle you are likely to have. The little bit of overflow wiped right of the polished aluminum with a paper towel. Follow the instructions and let the iron pre-heat a good 15-20 minutes before brushing the plates liberally with shortening or lard. The excess will overflow, but you just wipe it off with a dry paper towel. Now you're ready to make your pizelle.

We tried making gluten free pizzelles with the flour we had on hand.On the first try, our dough was a little too wet and the dough stuck to the Palmer Pizzelle Maker and burned.Tough to clean. The aluminum dies can't be removed from the unit and the unit can't be dunked under water.Had to scrape out the burned dough with a metal pick.Once we got the recipe thick enough, the pizzelles we made were great. There is no on/off switch on the unit. The only way to shut it off is to unplug it.The Palmer Pizzelle Maker does a great job when the thickness of your recipe is correct.

Sticks like crazy even using the recipe provided. Doesn't matter what I try to oil it - they all stick. Would not recommend

This pizzelle iron is the best pizzelle maker I have ever used. I have been making pizelles for over 45 years and have tried various ones over time. Other brand's tefllon coated ones that I tried do not get very hot, the patterns on the cookies are not very deep, and they take long to make. This PALMER PIZZELLE MAKER gets very hot (which is essential for crisp cookies) and has nice deep patterns that make the cookie look very pretty. It is important to grease the iron as directed before using, If not, the cookie dough will stick in the depressions and be very difficult to clean out. Do not get frustrated if this happen to you, though. Just clean it and start again. However, if greased properly on each first use, it never sticks and wipes clean with a damp paper towel. It is also important to let the iron heat up for at least 15 minutes. One reason the cookies will stick is if you do not let the iron get hot enough... so grease it exactly as directed and let it get hot - it will work out perfectly for you every time!! I would not use any other puzzle maker. While visiting family in another state, I was asked to make pizzelles for them. They showed me their iron, and I tried to use it, but ultimately ordered a Palmer Pizzelle Maker to be sent to their house for me to use! That's how much I love this one!!! You will not be disappointed . I highly recommend this for purchase.I'd also like to add that there is no indicator light for "doneness," but that is not a negative. Each recipe takes a differing time, so you need a little trial and error to see just how long each one takes for you. I sometimes lift up the iron a little and peak to see how they look. Just be careful you don't move the pizzelle or it will mess up the pattern on it (but still be edible). My family likes to eat the "mistakes" as soon as I make them!
