Due to assorted injuries, my thumbs are wonky, misshapen, and often painful. After trying several thumb splints/braces, this is the only one that actually relieves pain and does not cause more! The aluminum version is perfect for me, as it can be molded to my crooked digits, which is a real deal-breaker without that feature. I like the way it it leaves such a large portion of my palm open, allowing my fingers to move freely. It doesn't pinch or rub the skin between my thumb and forefinger, which so many of the others did. I feel it is as comfortable as a brace or splint can be, yet provides plenty of support. I highly recommend trying this one!

The Thumb Splint seems to be of good quality, well made, and should hold up to everyday use. Unfortunately, the location of the aluminum splint placed pressure on my thumb that made it painful to wear. I did not subtract any stars because everyone's hands, needs, and location of pain can vary. This may work perfectly fine for others, unfortunately, not for me.

Working very well to immobilize my thumb and allowing it to heal. Very comfortable.

I needed a support to heal MCP on my hands and tried a few support braces and found this one to be the best. It is comfortable and fits well (7" wrist and ordered large). After a few days it has help to lessen the pain on both hands. I would deduct a half a star if I could since the velco strap for the thumb is too short and does not fasten well. A minor inconvenience. Good quality product.

I've been going between the aircast wrist brace with thumb splint and a small/basic (futuro brand), comfortable but flexible brace I bought at the store. The aircast is amazingly comfortable but very restrictive, and when the splint gets pressed at certain angles it hurts the injured joint. It's best for overnight use to help relax more muscles in my wrist and forearm. This splint is amazing in that it wraps all the way around the joint. I've tested out putting pressure on various points and so far no pain. I can actually use it almost like a normal thumb, I can use the rest of my fingers and hand like normal, and can even text with both hands if I hold my phone at the right angle! For reference, I have chronic re-injury issues with this thumb from a previous dislocation and accidental re-located at the wrong angle. The most recent injury has left my thumb with no feeling whatsoever but I'm confident this will help reduce the inflammation better that the the other braces with everyday use.The metal plate is easy enough to bend around your thumb but I might try heating it to mold to an even better fit.

I have an arthritic thumb that's become more painful since fracturing my wrist 2 months ago. I went from the doctor's hard, molded spica splint to an OTC simpler one, then a shorter one that covered most of my hand, and now this that covers only my thumb and wrist, which is exactly what I wanted. It supports both areas I'm afraid of reinjuring, and I'm virtually pain free. It's possible the cheaper ones are just as good, but a lot of reviews of them mention fabric deterioration. I think this one is made better. The velcro on this holds without being so strong that it rips or frays the fabric. I think it will outlast the cheaper ones.

The reason I gave this three stars is because you cannot remove the metal brace inside or lease I couldn’t- I wanted to remove it so I could wash the guard. I am using this to stabilize, may trigger finger, which hurts quite a bit, I use this on my left hand, one thing I do not like is, the Velcro goes from left to right, and my thumb is slightly turned because of my trigger finger. I wish I could tighten the wrist guard.- handguard, whatever the other way to help straighten my finger out a little bit. It definitely helps stabilize my thumb. Was kind of funny while traveling. When people saw me wearing it they were more helpful with carrying my bags! I’ll have to remember that next time I travel so I don’t have to carry my bags so much lol

This is very comfortable and feels much better than other brands that cover more of your hand. The down side to this is that there isn't much support if you are active. I use both kinds, I wear this one when I go out running around, and use the other the rest of the time. Good buy and value for the money, just be sure you k ow how much support you will need.
