I'm using this for Japanese to English, and reverse....It does NOT need the internet ( via a smart phone or a network)..this is HUGE when you're someplace and can't get a network wireless signal. It's easy to use, and is fairly loud...which is great because I'm hearing impaired. It translates text and voice...and as far as my tests go, is VERY accurate and quick!! I can't wait to try it in Tokyo!!! I actually own an Enence, and it NEEDS internet via a smart phone to work....big drawback when using it in other countries!!

I’ve used translation apps and having. Standalone device was a game changer.For the price I wish they would upgrade the chip so it would be instantaneous, but it was still plenty fast once it was working.I used it in numerous places and having someone speak directly into the device and not having to worry about handing an iPhone pro max back and forth in a developing nation alone is worth the purchase.It can translate long passages, and made it easy to hold conversations back responding to whole conversations. 3.8 stars is prolly fair, I’m giving it 4.*you need to restart it daily. Also did not use offline mode, once I was in a building without connection and I could not use it.

THESE ARE THE MOST TERRIBLE SOUNDING TRANSLATORS THAT I HAVE EVER HEARD. I HAVE HAD THESE FOR A WHILE NOW BUT I FORGOT UNTIL NOW, WHEN WRITING A FEW REVIEWS FOR PURCHASES I HAVE MADE ON AMAZON, THAT I STILL HAVE THESE AND THAT I NWVER COMPLAINED BEFORE THIS. I AM ACTUALLY QUITE AMAZED AND SHOCKED AND NOW REALLY CONFUSED AT THE MONENT AS I BUY SO MUCH FROM AMAZON AND I JUST CANNOT BELIEVE THAT AMAZON WOULD SELL ANYTHING LIKE THIS.AS I MENTIONED, I PURCHASED THESE A WHILE BACK AND I WILL ADMIT THAT MAKING A COMPLAINT THIS LATE IS MY OWN FAULT. UT AS I WILL DESCRIBE, THESE TRANSLATORS MADE ME SO SICK THAT I SIMPLY PUT THEM BACK IN THE BOX AND PUT THEM IN A CLOSET AND FORGOT ABOUT THEM. We ordered the older M3 Vasco and it was too small, hard to hear, very slow waiting for it to respond, and simply very unpleasant to use. We took a gamble and bought this newer replacement model hoping it would make the grade. It definitely did! Bigger, Louder, Faster, more Responsive. It is everything the old M3 wasn't. Highly recommended!

Nachdem ich bereits viele Übersetzungsgeräte u.a. auch sehr viel preiswertere Geräte mit on- und offline Übersetzungsmöglichkeiten ausgetestet habe, hat mich dieses Gerät von VASCO am besten überzeugt. Es ist ein gutes, ausgereiftes und robustes Gerät mit sehr guter Spracherkennung und -Übersetzung. Dadurch muss man die eigenen Sätze nicht x-fach wiederholen, damit das Gerät einen richtig versteht. Das einzige, was mich ein wenig gestört hat, ist die Anordnung der Übersetzungs-Buttons. Das Gerät verfügt zwar auch über Touchscreen-Buttons, jedoch ist die Bedienung bei kaltem Wetter und mit dicken Handschuhen etwas unkomfortabel, da man oft den falschen Bedienungsknopf erwischt. Mit dem Vorgängermodell VASCO V3, das ich ebenfalls wärmstens empfehlen kann, hat man diese Einschränkung nicht. Abgesehen davon ist es ein hervorragendes Übersetzungsgerät, das seinen Preis in jeder Hinsicht wert ist.

Bought 2 X Vasco V4 Language Translator for my daughters as a 2024 Christmas present. In both cases the translators will be used in totally different environments as one daughter lives in the Netherlands and is an Academic who travels very often to international destinations. My youngest daughter lives in zwitserland and works in International childcare where English is the main spoken language but the children age group 3 to 6 years of age are from all over the world.

I like this product, and I want to support smaller companies; however, I had to return this due to its poor battery strength. With wifi turned off and without using the device, the battery lasts only 2 days. I reached out to Vasco, and they said without use and without wifi (which uses power), it lasts 3 to 4 days. Mine did not. When using it, the battery strength drops dramatically, much more than a phone, and I would not expect it to last more than a couple to maybe a few hours when in use. The potential advantage of this product over your phone is that you can access spoken translation without wifi in many parts of the world. Unfortunately, the poor battery life erases much of this advantage. Their customer service was responsive and they offered to replace it. (I chose to return it.)

Yes it's pricey, but before you buy check the amount of info you are requiring from their web sites. With speaking more than one language, I use this to translate to the third party, (my cheat code of not needing to repeat everything again in another language) I like fancy when I buy stuff. So if you are questioning if this is right for you, the cheaper selection does the same job to minus a few options possibly. Down side, Hebrew does not work with this device... but Hebrew is easy to learn in a month. I got this so I'm not paying more to use the phone out of country to translate. This was the cheaper option in the long run. If you are good at budgeting, understanding future plans of finance you will understand this. Still can't find the option for translating woman, but then again this would not be affordable if that was the case.

As someone who travels a lot for work being able to communicate locally is imperative. I used to purchase local sim cards then use apps for translation. Which was OK. But having to purchase the sim card could be challenging at times.Sure this device is not cheap. But to be able to have access to free lifetime data is what sold me. I now have immediate access to locals once I step off the plane. (In languages covered) which are plenty by the way, without having to source a sim card.The device itself is very nicely made. Touch screen is perfect. The only update that would be nice is to have every language spoken as well as visually on the screen. (There are only a few that arnt spoken).
