PROS: Out of the box, the setup was nice & low; intonation was spot-on. String spacing was correct. Body bracing is genuine classical. Tuning machines better than expected. The two neck reinforcing strips of Amara Ebony are Xlnt, obviating the need for a truss rod (rarely seen in old-school classical guitars, anyway). Resonance is good enough that the guitar has both sustain and projection...not a lot, but quite noticeable; this is partly due to the NuBone compensated saddle. The guitar is light, and it balances properly. CONS: fret ends are slightly rough, but that's easy enough to fix. The fingerboard & bridge are "Ebonized" Mahogany; meaning they are darkened to look like Ebony (a better choice would have been Laurel....without the "Ebonizing"). The nut appears to be plastic; but at least it's easy & cheap to upgrade to bone....synthetic or real. NOTES: when it's time to replace the strings, a set of Martin M260 Normal CLASSICAL (approx. $6.00/set) will improve the sound quite a bit. When dressing the fret ends, polishing the frets is also a good idea; it will improve both play-ability and appearance. The Valencia VC204H is an inexpensive, entry-level guitar; but it's one of the very best in its price range.

This is a nice guitar made out of light woods, so it is light-weight and good for travel (but you will need a hard case because these guitars break (the first one I received was broken at the neck). It feels comfortable to play. The sound has a nice projection but is not loud. The action is a bit high and it does not have a truss rod... I wish it did. The tuners take a few days to adapt to the climate in my house. Be patient tuning it many times the first week or so. The replacement was easy and they did not charge for the return of the first one or the shipping of the second one. I recommend it because the price is right. The strings are soft. Enjoy!

The great quality of the guitar surprised me. I bought this for my wife to learn on. I think I will be buying another for myself.

The guitar's resonant capacity is low, its a budget build guitar with very thin back and sides. If you are looking at this to buy your first guitar on a budget you can go for it. I own a YMH c40 and its nowhere close to it. Not satisfied.

I have Yamaha C40 and just bought this one C40 is a little better+Wider neck, This guitar neck is narrow like acoustic But this guitar comes with Truss rod generally classical guitar doesn’t bend much as the tension is lower than acoustic because of nylon strings.Overall I would say it’s a decent guitar and at this price you won’t get a classical guitar

Best find on Amazon yet! Starting from the sound, looks to the finish of the wood on the guitar is absolutely perfect. Don't be disappointed if you don't find any electrical component like a pick up or holders to attach the guitar strap as classical guitars usually don't.
