I purchased this for a 2008 Accord. I sourced a person to cut they key and then programmed it myself with a scan tool with Bi-directional capabilities. It works great and looks good with the exception of missing the Honda logo on the back.

Just be aware that it might work and it might not. I took it to a very experienced locksmith who could not get the fob programmed to my 2009 accord. I see other reviews saying it works fine. So who knows. Just beware.

You will still need to get it programmed, which you can to at a battery plus store or locksmith. If you got to dealership it will cost a lot

I dropped my key into the toilet AS IT WAS FLUSHING. Honda quoted me $60 for the key but to program it was like $375. So I used my spare because even with the quote, the keys were back ordered for months and I couldn’t get one. I followed some simple online instructions to program this one and it worked! Yay I have automatic locks again! Easy to use. Easy to program. Works perfectly on my 2011 Honda Pilot! I did not have the key cut to match yet, I believe I’d have to have something done with it either at the dealership or locksmith. For now I start and drive my car with my spare but use this to lock and unlock. Works for me!

This did NOT WORK for my 2009 Honda Accord! giving it 5 stars so that people are aware. The open door/close door and trunk release are programmable HOWEVER when the key is placed into the ignition a green KEY light appears on the dashboard and renders the car IMMOBILE! it shuts the car down and you are not able to start it! there is a chip inside the fob that needs to match the one in the ignition and this part needs to be done by a dealer which costs a few hundred. So save yourself running late for work in the morning and avoid this key fob!

After ruining an original key fob for my 2015 Pilot EX-L by running it through the laundry I ordered this one. I was fortunate that I was still able to lock/unlock the doors through the only lock in the drivers door. I was also fortunate to have the transponder pellet operable so I could start the car without the security horn blaring. My plan was to only use the lock/unlock/rear hatch window and panic button assembly from my purchase. I opened the key fob case and checked the battery---DEAD!. Then I noticed the Panic button was sticking too far out and expected to have it activate in my pocket...So not wanting to deal with a return for a dead battery I found another battery that would work and I also sanded down the panic button face to just below the face of the fob, like the original. I reused my laundered key fob installing the new, now modified, lock/unlock panic button and new battery assembly. After programming the fobs(required) all is well again. Don't know how long it will last.Update: Battery life is a couple of DAYS....

I ordered this as a replacement key for a 2008 Accord EXL. I took the car, an original key and the usaremote to a large locksmith company. $80. For programming $37. To cut the key. 20 minutes all done. Works well. About $150CAD all in (including key). The only negative is that the Amazon ad said it included programming instructions that it did not come with. It did come with a card suggesting a their website for locksmith referrals. There are no locksmith referrals.I would buy a usaremote brand key again but probably not from Carkeycentral.

This is a solid key. It will cost you about 25 to have it cut and you probably need the chip from one of your other keys in order to start your car. If you do not have a spare chip, you will probably need to buy a programming kit to program the included chip. The dealer and Ace do not like programming keys they did not sell. Some Ace will not even cut keys they did not sell. If your key just broke, buy a shell only and transfer the fob and key to the new shell. I hacked my chip out of my valet key and upgraded it to this full function fob key. By the way, the fob programming is very easy. It's the start your motor protection that causes all the trouble. If your car is not worth that much, you can pull one good chip and fix it somehow very close to your car's key slot and then any cut key will start your car.
