These should last for years but they only lasted for months. I bought them in September of 2024 and by February 2025 they both have failed. Very disappointed with the quality. Do not buy!

I didn’t realize these keys didn’t have a trunk button. Got them cut and programmed and they work fine. The only other difference I noticed is that it does have as far of a range as the original key

Wow. It worked just like the item description said it would. Central AB GMC dealer quoted $380 for OEM fob cut and program. They said this fob likely wouldn't program but they would try for a $200 fee. I paid them $20 to cut it and I programmed it in 30 seconds or less in their parking lot without the need of their special GMC programing tool. A Red Deer Locksmith quoted me $450 for their non OEM fob cut and programmed. 2012 GMC Terrain now has a 2nd key for only $70. Awesome product.

I needed a key replacement and the dealership wanted $300 for one.I bought these, went to a local locksmith who cut and programmed the keys.Total cost $100 for 2 keys.The locksmith said these are quality. Well made fobs.

My OEM key had no buttons and the key snapped out of the housing. I preferred these to repair/replace my original key. If you have a punch set you can remove the roll pin as well as the blank key and insert the original key. However you will have to drill a new 1/16" hole through it to insert the roll pin back because the collar on the factory key is different than the replacement key. Easy enough to program the new key with a short video on YouTube. Overall in about 20 mins I had a new keyfob programmed and working for $25. I tried calling around to have the blank cut but they all wanted $60 each and up to do it. No thanks.

Excellent price. Had the key laser cut at a locksmith, and I programmed it myself in less than a minute. Works great, including alarm and remote start.

I bought 2 of these for a vehicle that came used with only one key. Had them cut at a local locksmith for $25.00 each. Took about 2 minutes to program the pair. These work very well.

When I 1st purchased my GMC Terrain it came with to Key Fobs but only one had a key. They charged me over $100 to get me another say it had to specially cut & programed. This is a way better value dollar for dollar than any car dealer. Once you get a new key cut. What a dealer won’t tell tell you is that to program this Key Fob all you have to do is put your normal key in the ignition turn on without starting then off. Insert this key in turn on don’t start then off & bingo it’s done. They also provide you with a website on how to program it for different vehicles that use this Fob. It functions no different than a factory Fob. Same exact quality as the factory Fob. It is easily compatible. Exact fit as factory. Also comes with a decent battery. I highly recommend it.

The product description said I can take this to the hardware store or locksmith to get the keys cut. I took it to my neighborhood Ace hardware, only to find out they will only cut keys purchased in their store. So I had to go to the locksmith, who charges $30/key. I realize this is still better than purchasing a key from the car dealer, but it was a disappointment since I was expecting to pay about $1/key. So before purchasing, I recommend calling around your area on key-cutting costs.However, I do give the product a 5-star rating in every other way. As long as you have a working key, programming takes literally 5 seconds. Everything works fine, even the remote start. For this reason, I would recommend the product. I've only owned it for 2 days, though. So if any problems occur in the future, I will update my review.

Key has to be cut, but afterwards programming was simple. Works like it should.
