I live in Orange County, south of Los Angeles. The high winds and wildfires in January left my pool in an absolute mess. To top that off, my pool service didn't show up for 3 weeks (and decided to up their monthly fee to $165). I terminated them (enough is enough). I ordered a robotic pool cleaner that failed to perform so I returned it. I needed a quick solution and did not want to rely on a pool service again. Nor did I want to drag around pool hoses (being nearly 80 years old and a 114 pound woman).I ordered this little Octopus Leaf Sucker Cordless Pool Vacuum as a stop-gap while trying to decide on another robotic cleaner. It charged up fairly quickly and I was pleasantly surprised at how effective it was. It comes with two debris bags. One was great at collecting leaves, pine needles, small cones, etc. but the one with the finer mesh was needed to collect sand and silt, etc.The only downsides were that #1 it does (of course) have to be pushed around with a pole - a bit of a challenge at my age and #2 the collection bags are a hassle to empty and clean. All things considered, this little vacuum is well worth the fairly modest price and, based on my own experience, I can highly recommend it.

This is a great tool for leaves and smaller particles. Comes with 2 size bags. Works great for both kinds of debris.I love this tool!

Does great. I ordered this over the winter and finally broke it out once the temps hit 50 and the pool water temp was above 40 today. No problems with the battery and I emptied the net once it seemed close to halfway full to doThe other half of the pool.

It’s a great idea, but don’t expect it to clean your pool if you just had a wind storm. This little thing is pretty much designed to pick up a leaf here and there, it gets clogged up too much to pick up a large pile of leaves at the bottom of the pool. We just had big wind, storms and fires here in Southern California, I thought I’d give this thing a try. It helped, but I wouldn’t recommend it for cleaning your entire pool. Like I said, little areas here and there.

This may work well if there’s nothing but dirt in the pool but anything bigger just clogs it. The inlet for debris is 1.25 inches wide and gets clogged easily with small leaves. Can not handle pine needles at all and clogs the bag with any algae to the point where water doesn’t go through the bag anymore and the bag is ruined as it’s not even washable. Does not clean well and takes more time in maintenance than cleaning.

It was a real time saver, quickly capturing all the leaves and debris. I charged the battery fully, so it ran at full speed. My Hayward pool robot works well but does not clean the corners or the steps to well, with the Leaf Sucker I am able to clean those areas easily.Things that I really liked: battery powered and water activated, auger starts spinning as soon as the needles are submerged, turns off when it comes pout of the water.Worked rapidly as I was sweeping at a moderate speed. The debris bags work well and are easy to attach and cleanI recommend this cleaner, definitely worth the price

The impeller motor isn't all that powerful, and it came with the most generic and unhelpful of instructions. I think the manufacturers ought to spend a few pennies on instruction manuals. It did get the leaves that were not too large or heavy...but it helped to scatter any clumps of leaves before trying to suck them up.The unit must be submerged for it to work...no indication of that in the nonexistent instructions.I've only used it once. I may check back in if it breaks on the second use.

This was recently purchased by me through Amazon. Was skeptical at first because of the price tag, spent the 50.00 bucks and couldn’t be more satisfied with a pole vacuum for the pool. Have 2 huge oak trees lots of leaves along with acorns this time of year. Sure it wasn’t perfect but also had algae and the fine bag contained almost all the algae along with probably 35 pounds of acorns. Switched to the other bag and it was amazing how fast it sucked up the acorns and leaves. The most important part is none of the algae or sand dirt rocks on the bottom had to go through my filter so that will save on backwashes and filter cleaning. So compare 50.00 verses a 700.00 robotic cleaner. I also have a MX8 and it is constantly having issues even with a leaf canister. Totally Happy with my purchase been cleaning my own pool for 22 years.
