The thermometer could slip up and down, giving inaccurate readings. This was my second one. The first one was accurate for a long time but started falling after a few years. This one slipped right away.

Clear thermometer to read. I had the same one previously. It lasted a long time until it got too cloudy to read. This product was also easy to attach to a railing as it comes with a string.

Nice looking, accurate, easy to use, but my previous one broke after only 7 months -- 0ne season. Cheap enough to buy another one for next summer, but shouldn't break that easily. What happened was the red column which reacts to the temperature broke loose from the background which has the readings, so it was useless from that point on. The red column should be affixed to the back more securely.

Accuracy is good. Tether line did not last 4 months. Temperature in viewing window became unreadable due to condensation after 5 months.

We're on our second of these thermometers after the first one came apart after almost two years. Not too bad considering the price and that it sits in the hot sun and pool water day in and day out. The mount has double stick tape to attach to the pool side and it works really well. We did have to replace the string a couple of times because it deteriorated. But the temp reading is accurate and it does the job.

Bought this to replace one that became useless after the glue holding the glass stick onto the background let go. This one uses metal bands to strap it down (the visible upper end one is circled in the picture), so I assume it's on there for good. In spite of aberrations in the picture due to it being wet, you can see that it's easy to read. Also, it stays within range of 108° ±2 like the previous one did, so I assume it's accurate.

Large (9"?), seems sturdy - still, it is a mercury thermometer and would likely break if dropped (as any liquid thermometer would). Very legible, even for 74 year old eyes. I bought it to check the water temp when I kayak. Does the job. The two-foot line attached to it keeps it close. I'm quite satisfied.
