Product Description

tds meter

What is TDS?

TDS (Total dissolved solids) is a measure of the dissolved combined content of all inorganic and organic substances present in a liquid in molecular, ionized, or micro-granular (colloidal sol) suspended form.

We use this merit to measure the clearness of the water. The higher the TDS value, the more dissolved solid particles are in the water. We use this merit to check our household tap water, RO system water, bottled water, pool, hydroponic nutrient level, aquarium, etc.

Works great. I had the same one for the past 4 years and the battery finally died so I figured I'd just buy a new one.

I know for a fact my pool salt level is 3000-3100 ppm ( to different test methods). However this device constantly measures TDS levels of 2200-2400 ppm for total dissolved solids. That can’t be possible. Salt is only one source of TDS components in the pool. Something is off with this device

Great meter. It’s super easy to use and has a cool case cover to keep it protected. Fast delivery, just all around a great purchase. I'm glad when searching I ordered this one. Don't be fooled by the price! Its better than more expensive ones.

This meter works. What more can I say? I calibrated it out of the box, and have been using it for about 3 months without the need to recalibrate. I find this meter to be extremely accurate and useful. You will get value for your dollar with this pH meter.I would recommend this product.UPDATE: after 2 ½ - 3 years of use, I had to recalibrate the meter. I used the last of two calibration powders they provided (used the first upon initial use). Worked perfectly and the meter is once again accurate. You can tell it’s going wonky when the meter keeps changing levels while in the water. I need another as a back up but they have not been available. I would DEFINITELY but this again!

We are experimenting with a small hydroponics kit and needed to be able to measure the quantity of nutrients in the water. This meter works well and gives a quick readout of the electrical conductivity (EC) of the water. The display is quite small so you might need a magnifying glass to see some of the details on the LCD display, but I don't consider that to be a problem (will depend on your age and eyesight!). I don't know how long the battery will last, but for my use probably a long time since measurement takes only a few seconds and is done infrequently. Note that if your use case requires that you measure a total dissolved solids (TDS) value, you just need to multiply EC by 500 (easy to do "in your head" if you multiply by 1000 and then divide by 2).

This might be a good product, if not for the fact that the instructions fail to mention how to re-calibrate...Turns out....just push and hold the TEMP button until the display flashes zeros. Place meter in cal solution and use outer buttons for up down until you get to correct setting. Then hold TEMP again until display changes to the temp reading to store adjustment...
