Our Laundry Room is not an actual room, it's more of a laundry hallway, between the garage and house. There are doors on either side that both open in. There is space enough for the machines and to walk through but not really space except flat wall space behind the doors. Additionally laundry is on the first floor and bedrooms are on the second. It has been nearly impossible to hang clothes as we remove them from the dryer, so they go in baskets to go upstairs and are already wrinkled. This is such a simple and easy solution. My husband mounted it on the flat wall behind one of the doors. It folds closed so we can open the door and pass through the space, the folds open while doing laundry. The picture showing only 3 knobs is not a defect of the product, we removed one knob so it can open flat against the door frame. Once opened just pull the bars outward from the wall and they slide forward creating plenty of hanging space. When you are done push them back towards the unit, close up the doors and it's flat and out of the way again.

I really like this rack. It saves space. I don't air dry too many things so it's perfect for my needs. It doesn't open very smoothly but it's not a big deal. I hope it doesn't rust.
