This upgraded gas fireplace remote kit is good quality. It is easy to set up. The temperature display is nice, our old one didn’t have this feature. I wasn’t able to use the wall mount, but can see how that would be an added benefit. Overall, I am happy with this product.

After a 4 day wait to get this junk I find that there is no output voltage in any switch position. 0 Mv I’d give it a zero if I could.

Great product, works seamlessly with my existing log set. What a great buy! Would be several hundred bucks for a thermo controlled remote from a dealer. My log set can now be set on a specific temp, set and forget. Huge upgrade from my previous on/off remote.

I have a gas fireplace that uses a Skytech remote that recently stopped working. This replacement remote controller kit is an upgrade over my old remote, featuring an automatic temperature control. The kit came with the remote controller, the receiver, wires, and some mounting hardware. A black and white wall plates are included in case you want to wall mount the receiver. The included wires will be too short for a wall mounted option, so you will need to extend the wires by splicing them.My old receiver sits under the fireplace, so I did not use the wall mount faceplates. The wiring was plug and play, and all I had to do was to unplug the old receiver from the fireplace gas valve and plug the new receiver in with the 2 included wires. The opposite end of the new wires plug directly into the new receiver with a wiring harness. The only thing I did not like about the new setup is the new receiver takes 4 AA batteries, which are not included. My old Skytech plugs into an AC outlet in my fireplace so it did not need batteries. Off season, I would have to remove the batteries in case they leak. It would have been nice to have a wired option so the batteries are not required. The new remote takes 2 AAA batteries, also not included. After swapping out the receivers, the remote was able to turn on the fireplace right away. The entire installation took less than 10 minutes, and was very easy. If you have more than one fireplace, and you intend to use another one of these kits on the other fireplaces, make sure you change the security code on the remote to prevent crosstalk between the fireplaces. It is probably good practice to change it anyway, just in case a neighbor has the same kit.The automatic temperature control works fine, and the fireplace shuts off when the desired room temperature is reached. It does turn the fireplace back on when the room temperature goes back down. I really like the backlighting on the remote, making it very easy to read in a dark room.Overall, I think this is a great replacement kit for any fireplace that uses a millivolt gas valve. It is well-made and very simple to install, and the backlit remote with adjustable temperature control is a real star.
