I saw that this is a frequently returned item. Maybe people have really high expectations for something this tiny.Do not buy unless you have a camera that fits in your pocket. It can't be a big pocket. I'm talking GRIII size and no bigger. Unless you use it purely for fill flash. And, if you have a bigger lens, most likely the lens will block the flash. It doesn't even need to be that big. Think a pocketable point and shoot lens. Also, this is not an autoflash. It features a single light output setting. So you need to adjust your camera exposure accordingly for best results. ie. if the exposure is too bright, you need to increase your shutter speed, iso, aputure, etc.If none of the above makes sense to you, this is not for you. Do not buy.I'm giving it 4 stars purely on portability and for specific cameras/lenses and use cases. I am using it on a Sony RX1.I will update this review more as I get more use out of the flash.

The MedaLight F1 mini camera Flash looks good on the Sony A7Cii. And it does have several redeeming features - easily rechargable via the USB-c outlet, simple power on/off option, reasonably long lasting plus it does give a reasonably bright flash. But there are several drawbacks. The biggest is that it doesn't communicate well with the camera's auto setting resulting it washed out images. The can be adjusted in the P (program auto) or A (apature) modes but that's not always handy if you are shooting on the fly. Next is the biggest, or should that be smallest, problem - shadow. If you are using anything other than the kit or short lens, the flash isn't tall enought to clear the larger prime lens or an extended zoom. This creates a very noticable shadow effect in your photos. Ideally the flashhead needs to be at least an inch taller.Overall, it's a nice flash unit. The solid aluminum body looks good on the camera. It comes with a sturdy protective box for when your not using it. Paired with a kit lens, it makes a handy flash for occasions where you could use a little extra light. But not pairing well with Sony's automatics and the shadows knock it down to just an average item

I was so excited when I bought this flash. My camera didn’t have one built in and this is so small and compact I thought it would be perfect. But as you can see, the flash is great. But every time I take a picture, there’s that annoying shadow that pops into every picture. I’m guess it’s picking up from my camera lens that’s attached. I’m so bummed out, idk if it’s fixable but I have not found anything to make it work.

This is a perfect attachment for my Sony ZV-e10 camera! When I got the camera I didn't even realize it didn't have a flash as I got it more for video but when I started wanting to need it more for photography I was thrilled to find something like this existed. Its way smaller than other attachments, super bright and works automatically with the camera. My only gripe is that sometimes I have to manually adjust the settings on my camera to adjust for the extra light but I think that's only if you don't use auto

This flash is so tiny! Fits nicely with my small Lumix GX85 or larger Fuji X100VI. Looks ok with big Nikon D810, too. No issue carrying around all day on top of my camera, if needed.I compared built in flash of Fuji X100VI and Lumix GX85.Under the same manual exposure setting (attached picture, please excuse and ignore out of focus, but look at the brightness), I get much brighter light than camera's built in flash.Charging is done via USB C. There is a switch to turn on/off.Comes in a tin case! With small foam factor, this ligh is fantastic for street photography.Highly recommend.

This is a nice flash but it wouldn’t work with my camera.

I really like this tiny flash option. All I did was put it on my camera's hot shoe, turn it on, and I began taking photos with flash. There are no other buttons or settings you have to control, and there are not buttons or settings at all. It is just a charging port and an on/off button; however, the simplicity can be exactly what you're looking for. It isn't too bright or large, and I did notice a shadow created by my larger lenses when using this flash. However, this isn't designed to be used with a full-sized camera and a 24-70 mid-range zoom with lens hood. While this did work on my Sony A7R4, it was best suited for my Fujifilm X-T100 and the X-Pro3. This is impossibly small, almost the size of a pop-up flash. It comes in a very nice hard plastic case that will be perfect for traveling with and storing the flash. If you're looking to replicate the on-camera flash look that is very popular now because of photographers like Lucy Lumen and Dina Litovshy and the popularity of digicams, this flash will be a great first flash or a great travel flash option.

I’ve been a photographer for almost a decade and how is it that I never knew this existed. It’s the cutest little flash I’ve ever had. I usually use on camera and off camera speed lights that are 20 times the size of this, bulky, cumbersome. For on the go shoots, this will be a perfect accessory and addition to my rig. As you can see the first photo of the cello is used with flash and the second photo is used without flash. It definitely makes a difference. I don’t advise using it with a cage like I have in the picture. Some of the flash will get cut off. It’s super easy to use it just sits directly on the hot shoe. Hold the button down to turn it on and turn it off. It charges with USB-C.
