Photos are a little over exposed on the lowest setting but it works perfect if you’re wanting something easy to use and on the lower end price-wise! Used it to take headshots! Nothing a little editing can’t fix.

strong, compact, little flash great for taking on the go. Way stronger than you would think and despite it being plastic its a pretty durable little thang....

Great value flash gun, well specified for full control. Smaller than I expected but it is in proportion to my small camera and is plenty powerful enough. Great for adding a catchlight in eyes, makes all the difference with portraits outside.Looks good on the camera.I am impressed.

Mini flash is very effective. Does a great job and you don't have to take a large, cumbersome flash along.

This is a great little device. The only downside is that it takes batteries. But its got a long range with 7 levels of power. It gets EXTREMELY bright, and works with just about any hot shoe. It's not TTL capable, you simply set the amount of flash you want (just a dial the fraction of the units output) and thats all. Works extremely well for on camera flash and is so small it can fit in a pocket. great to just keep in your bag and use when/if necessary

This flash unit is really compact and simple, it's easy to take anywhere and allows some experimenting and easy settings adjustment. It can also be used as a slave flash via optical trigger. It doesn't have any wireless connectivity, so it won't connect to a flash trigger/controller for OCF. For the money I feel like it's useful to have in the bag for a "just in case" and can also be a learning tool to understand flash photography better.

I have a good camera rig that includes a Sony a9iii and Sony GM lenses with strobes, flashes, and video lights. I don’t always want to lug around all that gear though, so I have a small Ricoh GRiii for those times. This mini flash is full manual for me, but it’s not hard to use it as a fill flash for shots. Well worth the price!

I own several fine Godox flashes. I generally use the camera-mounted flash as a fill light. When shooting events, a flash with diffusion or bounce adds a natural light; during the day, it fills the shadows on faces. This manual flash is excellent for its size; it can easily slip into a jacket pocket for use on the go. However, it is lacking in features I find essential:- The beam is very narrow with a hot spot in the middle. In other words, the photo is brighter in the middle than in the edges. It is completely unacceptable when shooting with a 24mm. It was better with a 50mm.- Lacks a pivot to use as a bounce flash.- It is manual, so it requires shooting a sample and adjusting the f-stop/flash strength accordingly. That said, for a fraction of the price of an automatic flash, the Godox iM30 is well built, with a sturdy shell and an easy-to-use button and dial. It produces a very bright burst, I always had to back it off from full power. It has some fun features, like the ability to use it as a slave to other flashes.I am awarding this flash five stars because it exceeds expectations for the price. However, it has many limitations.

PRODUCT/THOUGHTS:This is a small external flash unit (fits in the palm of your hand). It takes two AAA batteries (not included). The manufacturer includes a manual. The unit is easy to use and I was impressed how much power it has. This was tested indoors and the unit gives off a lot of light. The light is front-facing only and cannot be adjusted. There is an on/off clear button and an adjustable setting wheel on the side. This allows the user to use "Full flash" or less flash, all the way down to 1/64. I was happy that the unit worked well with my Digital Canon Rebel. It would have been nice if a carrying bag was included to keep the unit protected when traveling/sightseeing. Other than that, this is a very convenient flash unit if you need something more than the built-in camera flash.

I bought this to go with my Sony zv-1 since it doesn’t have built-in flash. It’s small but very powerful.I also tried it on my Canon EOS-M5 and it also works. I had bought the 270ex for that and this iM30 blows it away. Unlike the 270ex, the iM30 is able to keep up with high fps continuous shooting. The only drawback is as expected from a manual flash, you set it to the right strength so it isn’t over or under exposed.
