My son, now 4, 3 when I got it loves this science experiment kit. I however am a little frustrated with it. I’ve tried two of the iodine experiments and they don’t work. I truly think they just gave me water dyed red. I’m also very skeptical the crystal is actually going to grow a crystal. Also, the book is hard to read because it appears to be written in China or something and some of the pages are hard to understand. 😞

this is the perfect gift for 7 year and older kids. my daughter loved this gift that i got her for her 7th birthday. she loved it and learned a lot. the instructions are written clearly, and easy to follow. every experiment has scientific rationale for the results. if you are looking for a reasonably priced gift with educational content, this one is a great option.

I bought this over the summer but we're into October and my kid still uses this. I did limit him to 3 or 4 experiments each week in order to stretch things out. Left unattended, some of the ingredients were used for really dumb stuff so it's important to monitor them a bit while using so you dont run out of things. Many experiments they can complete on their own with a bit of guidance. Some where great family projects and really fuels creativity if your child loves science or engineering. This kit came with all of the essentials. Very few household items were needed.
