When I first got my hands on these UIIHUNT climbing sticks, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. I’ve used my fair share of climbing gear over the years - some good, some not so good - but these sticks had a reputation for being lightweight and durable. As a hunter who values every ounce in my pack, the promise of a 1.8-pound stick was enough to get my attention. They arrived completely disassembled and tightly packed in a box. Assembly was easy and fast, probably 5 minutes per stick max - you only need to tighten 3 bolts and that’s it. My first outing with them was on a cool, misty morning. I had my gear packed, and I needed to set up quickly and quietly. Pulling the climbing sticks from my pack, I was impressed by how easy they were to handle. They didn't clank together or create any of those metallic echoes that can spook game from miles away. Setting them up was simple and fast. The cinch belts slid into place, and within minutes, I had all three sticks secured to a sturdy oak. The strap system is simple but effective, gripping tightly even on the uneven bark. The straps easily adapted to both smaller trees and larger trunks - ranging from 4 inches to a solid 22 inches in diameter. Climbing felt safe and stable. The double-step design meant I could plant both feet comfortably, which made hanging my treestand significantly easier. The non-slip steps did their job well, offering enough grip that I never worried about slipping, even as the mist started to settle on the metal. And with the 15-inch step spacing, it felt natural and not at all strenuous to climb. While climbing down, I noticed the plastic versa-buttons flexed slightly as I shifted my weight. It wasn’t enough to cause a failure, but it did make me pause. I’ve always preferred metal components for critical weight-bearing parts, so this was a small strike against an otherwise impressive design. Transporting the sticks could also use a little refinement. While they nest together fairly well, they don’t lock into place. I had to use extra straps to keep them quiet and secure during the hike in. It wasn’t a dealbreaker, but it’s something to keep in mind if you’re particular about noise discipline. Despite these minor issues, the climbing sticks did exactly what I needed them to do - get me safely and quietly into the perfect spot. I’d say these sticks are a good choice for hunters who need a lightweight, durable, and easy-to-use climbing solution that delivers where it counts: stability, safety, and stealth.Bottom line:The UIIHUNT climbing sticks are impressively lightweight (1.8 pounds each) and easy to assemble, offering stability, safety, and stealth for hunters. They set up quickly and quietly, with a simple yet effective strap system that adapts to various tree sizes. The double-step design and non-slip steps enhance comfort and safety while climbing. However, the plastic versa-buttons felt less sturdy than preferred, and the sticks could benefit from a better nesting mechanism for transport. Despite these minor drawbacks, they deliver on key features and are a solid choice for hunters prioritizing lightweight, durable gear. They get a 4-star rating in my book.Pros:1. Each stick weighs 1.8 pounds, keeping pack weight low.2. Simple assembly with three bolts per stick takes about five minutes.3. No metallic clanking, ensuring quiet setup.4. Strap system adapts to trees from 4 to 22 inches in diameter.5. Double-step design provides comfortable and balanced footing.6. Non-slip steps offer reliable grip in damp conditions.Cons:1. Plastic versa-buttons flex under weight, raising durability concerns.2. Sticks do not lock together securely, requiring extra straps for quiet transport.

Like most of the other reviews mentioned, I was only able to use these steps two or three hunts in the field, on my way up a tree my second step broke as I was sinking the teeth of the step into the tree. Could have fell 10-12 feet as I use a 4 step rope aider on my bottom step. Do not waist your money, spend a little more and get a higher quality step. Not worth your life to safe some money.

Just like all of the others listed above, mine broke with proper use on 3rd use. Unsafe

This product is not safe, thank god for linemen’s belts because otherwise I would’ve have fallen 18ft to the ground 2 miles into the woods with no service. First real use and the cleat snaps. Product quality is horrible

Seemed like a good deal, and felt pretty solid in hand, but the bracket snapped on the second ascent. I tried to return/refund/replace, but Amazon won’t let you do anything after 30 days, and I’m at day 35. Very disappointing. Don’t waste your money.

I want to love these climbing sticks - they are light, compact, and pack together fairly well. The straps are good enough, although they are a bit bulky.However…. on my 4th sit with them, one of the tree mounts snapped when I stepped onto the step. It’s a good thing I have experience climbing or else I could’ve been crawling my way out of the bush with a broken limb.

I’m usually not the “leave a negative review” type, but I feel like I should for this one. One of these climbing sticks broke as I was on my way down the tree. Luckily I was strapped in and didn’t fall all the way out of the tree. The metal piece with the teeth that grips the tree snapped in half where the bolt goes through. I weigh 200 lbs and had about 20 lbs of gear on me. This was the second time I had them in the field.

Built them went to test them out. Locked it in to the tree stepped my left leg on to the first stick and the step cracked in half. Thank god it wasn’t my last step!!
