plug and play it is true with window 11 if the laptop have the built-in drive for this adaptor. if not you can download the software from realtek.it is working on usb4-c port of the laptop.i use a lan cable cat 8. i decide to put the wi fi off on the laptop to have a better speed on my other wi fi devices. i am very satisfy for this adaptor. extra info. it is working if your laptop have a built-in compatibility with this adapter. to check that, you go to window settings under network and internet.after you plug in the adapter to the laptop on the port of usb type c and a lan cable to the router. you can click on properties of ethernet on window settings. if you see realtek usb 2.5 gbe family controler, your laptop is compatible. if not you go on line directly to realtek site and download that software by choosing window 11. my laptop have a usb4 type c but a port of usb 3.2 gen 2 type c must working also. about the lan cable plug on this adapter work better with cat 8 but cat 7 or 6 probably work also. my router have a 10 ge lan port. it is where i plug the lan cable from the adaptor. if you using a 1 ge lan port, can influance the speed of your internet. another important factor about the speed of internet is the plan you have. i have a internet plan of 2 gigs. the result of speed is 2170 mbps for download and 216 mbps for upload. i have not try to do aggregation on my router because this speed is an off for me. because i have other wi fi devices on my network i decide to put the wi fi off on my laptop to increase the speed on this other devices. if you have more question ask copilot in window. this ai know a lot.

Purchased on Feb '25 for $19. Works well with Dante and a M2 MacBook Pro. Several Shure SLXD4QDAN+ through a Netgear GS305 switch. Dante Virtual Soundcard v4.5.1.1 and Dante Controller for Mac OS 15.2 all "plug and play" un-noticeable latency if any.

I tested this on a couple of different Windows PC and a M2 Macbook Pro. Worked seamlessly on both. One of my Windows PCs was reporting much slower than expected download speeds. After testing it without issue on the Macbook, started troubleshooting on the Windows PC. Turns out my VPN client, even though it was not connected was causing the slow download speeds. Once I uninstalled it, I got the expected both download and upload speeds with speedtest.net over 2300 in both directions.

Solid construction and great performance. I appreciate the industrial design of the metal casing; it will surely last a long time. However, it does scratch anything it rubs against. So, donāt just toss it into your bag alongside your fancy MacBook, or it will look like a cat got trapped in there!

With an advertised speed of 2.5G, I was initially skeptical, but I decided to give it a shotāand Iām glad I did! As a system admin, I frequently use adapters like this since many newer computers lack an Ethernet port, which is essential for setup and downloading apps. This adapter exceeds expectations, delivering speeds faster than my other hardware and making program downloads on new computers a breeze. I use it 3-5 times a day, primarily on Macs, and it has proven to be both fast and durable. Iād definitely buy it again and highly recommend it for anyone needing a reliable, high-speed Ethernet solution!

Four months ago, I purchased two of these, and one month ago, I started noticing partial and full link dropouts. I'm outside any return period so this was money wasted. I first noticed the dropouts on my 2020 Intel iMac 27", where Zoon sessions would garble then drop and sometimes reconnect. It took lots of effort to finally identify these adapters as the culprits. I will not be buying UGreen adapters again!Updated: The above description was my problem and removing the UGreen did reduce the problem. However, the true culprit was the "Davuaz 2.5G Unmanaged Ethernet Switch " I was using with my Unifi Dream Machine Pro. Once I removed the unmanaged switch my network stabilized and the UGreen adapters are working flawlessly. Yes I will be buy more UGreen if needed.

Realmente me surpreendi com o dispositivo !! After I upgraded my package with Xfinity to 2gb I noticed that my M2 Mac Mini was only getting about 800mB. Not surprising since I did not get the $100 gigabit ethernet option. I immediately did a Google search and found a recommendation for the Ugreen adapter. So I ordered it and the CAT8 cable that Amazon suggested to go with it.Initially after hooking up the adapter I was getting less bandwidth than before (about 500mbit). I also noticed that the Mac was only negotiating the connection to the gateway at 1000mB. It took me a minute to realize that you have to connect the cable to the port on the gateway with the RED marker next to it, as this is the only port on the gateway that offers 10GBe connectivity.I then installed the Mac driver from Ugreen's website to see if it would make the connection any better: It did not. I recommend skipping the manufacturer-provided driver if you have a Mac, because it does not offer any benefit, and it requires you to enable user kernel extensions in the Mac's firmware, which could cause system insecurity and/or instability. After testing, I immediately uninstalled the driver and turned user kernel extensions off.As you can see from the screenshot, I'm not getting the full 2Gb connectivity.
