The supplied rivets don't work well with a spray in bed liner. had to use 1/4" spacers between the base plate and the tailgate so as to not distort the tail gate cover plate. Had to use my own fasteners to attach the ladder. Also added two 6 " long 1" tubes to the legs to increase the length of the legs do to the fact the truck being a 4X4 . But over all, am very happy with how it came out.

Terrible Construction & No install instructions that are useful. Made in China!!!!! Do not buy if you want functionality of a real work truck. You can't load anything on the tailgate. i.e. lumber or anything that you need to haul with the tailgate down.

The squeeze rivets are useless and the ladder locking mechanism is a bad idea if you plan to use your truck bed or tailgate. I ended up using neither and improvised to make it work for my F250.

My wife gave me this as a gift. It seems to be a one of a kind design. All other brands appear to use screws to mount the ladder plate. This uses rivet nuts and bolts and gives you a coupling device to install the rivet nuts. The "detailed manual" is on one side of an 8.5" page and is all images that don't make sense to me. There is no written instruction. Because of the rivet nuts, you need to drill multiple large 0.413 inch holes to mount the plate and then couple the rivet nuts with the bolts. I have not attempted this project yet but it likely will take me a couple of hours. In the long run, it may be a better way to mount the ladder plate onto the tailgate but I wasn't counting on spending this much time on it. If you haven't mounted rivet nuts (like me), there is a tool that can do it or you can use the coupling tool included.

I did a lot of research before I made a purchase and found this to be the most sturdy ladder. The steps are wider that other models and was easy to install. I have an F350 Super Duty 4 wheel drive and it has always been hard to access the bed of the truck. I carried a small stepstool in the back of the truck for access. The ladder is easy to deploy and stores out of the way when not in use.
