This a great portable TV at least here in the Denver Metro area. It's nice get away costly streaming service and watch some good old-fashioned tv. I don't like paying for commercials

The picture quality is fine. The sound is fine but the battery life doesn’t last that long. I charge it up overnight and when i’m watching a program, it only lasts for 2 1/2 hours, even I though I have it still charging through the electrical portI can only watch a program after letting it charge up several more hoursI don’t feel a really good product

I have now purchased and still have five Tyler small model TVs ranging from 7 to 13 inch. This nine inch model is to be used for field testing OTA RX with various antennas at multiple locations/elevations in remote and rural areas. The set performs as well or better than every other Big Name brand I own (Magnavox, Visio, Samsung, LG), and the price is great. It is perfect for holding in my hands outdoors and doing multiple scans. Easy to find and use controls and menus. The remote is a full size hard key, not a credit card size with cheap plastic carbon buttons, but I do not use the remote unless I am back in the studio workshop area. Battery lasts long enough for me to run a few hours of testing, constantly checking volume, signal count and strength, and menu driven scans. Also works well as a quick monitor for all my other video connections. Great tool for my use. There are two minor things you need to be aware of if using strictly for entertainment. First, the sound on the smaller two sizes is fed to two small speakers which do not deliver a lot of bass range, but the sound is quite adequately adjusted with the volume for most programming. Second, the viewing angle from either side is fine, but the vertical angle is very narrow. With this set you will need to adjust the set to your prefered viewing height and readjust as needed for standing/sitting/lying down/etc. Picture quality and color are as good as it gets, surprisingly good for a screen this size. You can reasonably expect some variation in battery life depending on use and overall user demands, and this is true for all rechargeable devices regardless of claims made. YMMV! I get about 4-5 hours continuous viewing at moderate volume on my other Tylers, and expect this to fall in the same range. I have had one Tyler running 24/7 plugged into mains for over 4 years now and still going strong in less than ideal conditions. (One of my shops doubles as home to two outdoor cats and can get quite dusty when work is ongoing as well as having cat hairs in all sorts of places. Temperature there ranges from 60F winter to 85F summer with humidity variation of 40% to 80%. Not ideal for any electronics, but Tyler holds up just fine!) Recommendations: If cost is your primary factor the Tyler TVs are a good choice. In this size range you won't find a better set at this price or perhaps even higher. I do suggest getting the larger sizes for entertainment use as the sound and viewing comfort increase with size. The cost increases only minimally as you go up in size, and the overall great quality remains the same. If you want a knockabout model to take outdoors camping or fishing/boating I would stick with the nine inch size. Note that you will need to recharge or have alternate 12V power source available for longer viewing time.

I had read in other reviews that the picture was a bit harsh, and indoors, it can be. It's not awful, mind you, just a bit harsh: a little too much contrast and color. Outdoors, however, which is where I watch this unit mostly, the picture has a very nice appearance. Battery life is good, and the tuner is as good as other bigger TVs that I own. I use this for over-the-air TV, so a decent tuner is a must. Portable, obviously, and the coax cable adapter that comes with it makes it easy to hook-up to a legit antenna. Has a TV signal strength meter of sorts, it will tell you if the signal is "bad," "normal," or "good." Even with "bad" signal I still often got an uninterrupted picture. Time will tell, but thus far I am happy with this purchase. Only drawback is the "bubble button" type remote control. I just don't like that sort of button style. Also, the remote will turn on/off other devices in the room that use the same type of remote. Not the biggest problem. I haven't had any battery outages, but I don't watch that long at any one time, so your experience may vary. In any case, you can run the TV off a portable power inverter with ease. You will probably need an external speaker for outdoor use. This thing just isn't very loud.
