The bands provide very little resistance. Mostly I need something to brace against to be able to push the pedals down, because I’m a small adult. So I have to stand at the very back of the pedals to try to get enough torque to get them down, they go slowly, and then I do the other pedal. So it’s kind of a step-wait…-step, wait… motion, with a little bit of a rotation to it. Just a little. They really need to add a resistance option to this because I’d like to go faster and with more twist. My husband who is 200 lbs didn’t have much more luck getting the pedals depressed than I did. So maybe we got a defective one, or maybe it’s designed for people 250 lbs and up… not sure. But if I’d ordered and paid for this, I’d be returning it because it doesn’t work well for me and my size. Small people beware. I’m about 5 feet and strong; I usually call myself short but not petite. It’s got a nice small footprint and it’s easy to move around.

I'm a senior trying to get back into exercising.I like this product because it's not plug-in. The feet 'paddles' are large enough for my wide feet lol. It seems to be fairly quiet so far. I have a yoga stick for balance and I think I'll use it for this until I feel more steady with the twist action feature of this but I can see how it would tone/slim down that waistline. So far, I'm impressed and the price seems reasonable.

What I like about this stepper exercising machine:- It has good portability. Yes, it's a little heavy and still somewhat bulky but it's much easier to move than a larger machine.- The machine came pretty much ready to go. All I really had to do was insert the battery into the digital reader (battery was included) and attach the resistance bands, which go on via carabiner-type clips.- The machine is nice and quiet.- The machine doesn't need to be plugged in to work.- The foot areas are nice and big.- The handles on the resistance bands are comfortable enough. They're slightly padded.- The twist action is interesting, though it might not be the best for those with back problems? What I don't like about this stepper exercising machine:- I can't change the resistance of the steps or the bands. The steps have a bit of resistance to them which means they move slowly so it sucks that I can't change that. The slow stepping makes the workout routine a little more boring to me and it takes more time to get a workout done. It would be nice if I could get the steps to move a little easier/faster until muscles build up a little.- The machine had that weird chemical/factory smell to it when I took it out of the box. I'm still waiting for the smell to fully dissipate.- Somehow one of the resistance bands came unattached when I first started working out on the machine. I made sure it was completely attached before using to, so I have no idea how it was able to come unattached! That makes me not entirely trust the resistance bands for a hard workout. I don't need one of the carabiner clips coming unattached again and possibly whacking me up in the face.- There doesn't seem to be a way to turn off the LED display. It does automatically turn off after 4 minutes of the machine not being used, but I prefer having an actual 'Off' button so the battery doesn't drain as fast or if an issue arises with the display and it no longer turns off on its own.

This stair stepper is simple but effective. It twists as you go from one foot to the other and has resistance bands that allow for an arm workout. It does not offer different levels of resistance but it keeps track of steps, time, and calories. It is light weight and easy to move. The resistance level feels like you are climbing up a flight of stairs or walking at an incline. Overall it is very quiet and would be easy to use while watching tv or at a standing desk. It keeps track of your progress until you reset it by holding the red button until the screen flashes.

I picked this up because of the portability and the workout I thought it would give. It turns out that the portability is indeed great, and it is an excellent workout. There isn't any assembly at all really. It comes ready to go. You just have to attach the resistance bands, which just clip on.It is a bit of a strange sensation to adjust to. Every step you take twists your legs in one direction or the other. So its like a combination of a stepper with a twist. After just a minute you can already feel it. Ten minutes is a great workout and your legs will be sore the next day.The digital readout is ok, but it really needs to be backlit. It is not backlit so there is no way you are going to be able to read it unless you drop down to your knees to get a closer look.I will point out that if you have any kind of knee problems, this is not for you. I could feel it in my knees after just a few twists, so if you've got bad knees this might be torture. Also, if you have balance issues, I would avoid this as well. You do have the potential of falling over when getting onto the steps if you have balance problems. The other thing that I don't like is that it has no adjustments at all. There is no way to increase or decrease the difficulty of the device itself or the resistance handles. Once you've mastered it, the only way to get harder workout is to go for a longer time.Aside from these things, it is a great workout. It's portable, but also not lightweight, so it seems very sturdily built. Overall, if your body is up to it, this will get you some good exercise.
