I got this to use during my work from home job. It fits neatly under my desk and is very quiet. Light weight and easy to set up. Plenty of adjustments to add or reduce resistance. No assembly, which I love! Highly recommend

So, I'm very out of shape. I have not done cardio since...foreva. And I was able to grind out 12 minutes first time, along with some limited pulling on the resistance bands. So, I would start by saying this may be a good jumping off point for someone looking to add a little exercise to their day but it may not move the dial for someone with any level of fitness nor is it a solution for anyone but merely an entry point or stepping stone to launch you into the world of more vigorous exercise. I guess, even for those who are already fit, there's nothing harmful about adding 20 minutes a day out of your normally sedentary time to squeeze in a bit more exercise. But it's just a bit. Turning the wheel didn't seem to affect the difficulty of the exercise meaningfully or the height range of the pedal movement at all. Also, I've seen some videos posted of the red version of this with suction cups at the bottom and better grooves on the foot pedals--this has neither. One downside risk of this machine is the absence of a lip around the sides of the pedals. My feet were perpetually sliding over the edge, but because I kept looking down and checking it didn't go so far that I fell. But that's something I'd fear with this machine.Be aware if you're in an apartment with downstairs neighbors, this does make a klunk-klunk effect as your foot pounds the bottom of its range with each step. With all that said, I am not huffing and puffing, but I got an elevated heart rate and my Garmin watch tells me I burned 108 calories in 12 minutes, which isn't going to get me a job as a swim suit model anytime soon but is better than a poke in the eye.

Review of: Hydraulic Stair Stepper with Resistance Bands, Mini Steppers for Exercise at Home, Quiet Smooth Operation, Compact & Portable Fitness Step Machine with LCD Monitor, 300 Lbs. Weight CapacityAmazon Link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DNDT69LHOrdered: On 12/19/2024 and arrived on 12/22/2024.Price: $30.00 at time of ordering. Price: $49.99 at time of review. The hydraulic stair stepper is made of tube metal and thick plastic. It has a built-in LCD monitor that keeps track of repetitions per minute, time elapsed, calories burned, Mode/Reset button. There are (2) hydraulic tubes attached on either side, a braided steel cable and pulley underneath towards the front, and a resistance knob between them with (2) hard removable plastic foot pads at the front. Included are (2) resistance bands with foam covered handles and carabiners at the bottom. The description states this unit supports up to 300 lbs. There is a manual included. The unit comes nearly fully assembled and there is very little needing to do for set-up, except for the attachment of the resistance bands. This unit is easy to use and flows smoothly when stepping with minimal to no errors noted. The feet wells seem large enough to fit a U.S. size 12 men's foot. The resistance know can be adjusted to increase or decrease how much or how little pressure is used. When using it, there is no noise, and the unit is quiet. It is small enough to store under most beds and can be used in almost any room in the house. The metal is about as thick as a standard U.S. Quarter while the plastic foot covers are twice as thick. There is no On/Off button but instead, the unit powers on when a person begins using it. Mostly for use while standing, but there is no issue if used sitting down as either way works well. With the steel cable movements, over time it can become loose and may come off the wheel. Check for tightness and secure fit prior to using.Recommendations: **Use in an open area. Start off slowly with a few reps and work up to a higher level. Use a silicone or dielectric grease to keep the cable lightly lubed. **Pros: Thick gauge metal; Sturdy plastic; Smooth hydraulic movements; Resistance bands; Can be used sitting or standing.Cons: Cable may come off of wheel.Worth buying?: For $30 it's an excellent buy!
