The variety of plug fittings fit the diameter of piping that I needed it to. The gauge on the meter didn't read properly but it didn't matter because my air compressor has a regulator on it that reads correct. I used this kit and found my boost leak immediately. The price was well below professional grade kits and does exactly the same, definitely reccomend.

These just don't seal all that well. They are made of a thin cheap plastic which don't give you very much confidence. The regulator wouldn't work right either.

First time using it I started with the regulator turned all the way down. I slowly turned the regulator up and as I got to 12 psi, the adapter in the intercooler hose exploded, sending plastic shrapnel everywhere. I’m lucky my face wasn’t too close as sharp little pieces of plastic went everywhere.

This is a review for Boost Leak Tester - Turbo Boost Leak Tester Kit 9PCS Turbo System Leakage Tester with 4 Pairs of Stepped Adapters 1-3/8"- 3-1/2", Leak Down Tester with Pressure Gauge for Cooling System. This system is good to test for leaks but not if you have non-round openings. I tried it on another vehicle that did have circular opening and it worked well. I tried to find out if they provided additional adapters so it could work on the more common than not oblong or other shaped opening but was unable to find anything. It seems like a very useful tool but it’s only halfway there, in my opinion. The case, except for the hinging area seems to be sturdy and durable but, I believe, without some reinforcement it will fail pretty quickly. The pressure regulator seems pretty accurate, and any connection made kept sealed and the connections felt solid. Overall, it is a good kit, they just need to expand the options on the plugs.

Got a chance to finally try these out on my BMW N55 based motors. These didn't work well because the OEM intake ducting are ellipsoid cross-sections. No matter how I work the rubber and sizing close to the opening, I couldn't get it to completely seal at the intake duct. I then went after the turbo inlet directly and found a size that fits, took a while to squeeze it into the turbo inlet on that borg warner turbo. At around 5-6 psi's of air, the rubber adapter pops right out. On these N55 motors, 5 psi's aren't enough to see leaks unless we also integrate smoke into the system. So I finally gave up.On my old E46 M3 with a custom turbo where the ducting is actually a perfectly rounded PU fitting, I was able to use the 3.5" adapter and use worm clamps to secure the fitting. That went well and I got 18 psi in there without any issues. Have no need to go any higher as 10-15 psi is usually enough to find even the smallest of leaks. If you're looking for turbo leak tester kits, do consider these, however, if your intake ducting is close to perfectly rounded then this kit will likely serve you well. If you have aftermarket plumbing, this will likely work too since they usually are round pipe and fittings. However, if you have oddly shaped OEM ducts to work with, be mindful that these rubbers are hard enough to resist conformity to odd shapes. I kept this review at 5 stars because nowhere in the seller's ad did they mention this to be truly universal. So as honest as they are, no points against them. However, when making your selection, do mind the shape of ducting you're going to deal with. Without a worm gear or some sort of clamp down, you won't achieve more than 5 psi with these. Just be aware of that.

I cannot speak to any other plugs sold by other companies, but these plugs have a very slight taper to them and when I load the pressure on the system plug side it blows off at about 12lbs. If the plug walls where straight and not tapered it may not be as easy to get on, but it would hold. The plumbing end cap i bought at home Depoe works better as it is not tapered. I would suggest trying a different manufacture.
