I gave these to my 19 year old son to try out, as I’m over the listed weight limit, and falling from a tree at terminal velocity is an experience I can do without.They’re well-constructed and, after some fiddling, my son was climbing a tree in the park near our home. They worked quite well, and he managed not to fall out of the tree. I did insist he use a safety line and a harness, which I’d suggest for anyone using these. They are cool, and do work. *RECOMMENDED*

I play airsoft and paintball as a sniper, and one of the things I have wanted to be able to do was scale certain trees for a better vantage point of the field and the opposing force. These tree climbing spikes from brand ROHSESON provide me with just that ability, and have become a part of my ghilli suit and tactical gear now.The spikes are designed to wrap around your lower legs and are built into a brownish cowhide leather chassis that will basically allow you to hoist yourself up a tree base with relative ease. There is a bit of a learning curve to using them, but once you have it figured out, it is actually pretty straight-forward.Technically the purpose of these spikes are for scaling trees to remove branches I suppose. But they have become quite a conversation piece among my friends on the airsoft field, and have been a lot of fun to use. Its not perfect, but these are quite durable and allow me to perform a unique maneuver that gives me an edge and helps us win battles. 4 stars.

I didn't realized it weight limit which I go over (at 6'5"), but also it depend of your wood type, as I saw different attachement result on different wood. I would say do not put your life on this at all ! Maybe use this to help, but depend on something else first. I will get someone less heavy to bring the rope up first, then use an asender instead

Rohseson Tree Climbing Spikes.We decided to get these climbing spikes for trimming some tall trees on our property. We have not yet tried them in action because of the end of the season. However, our review is focused on the product quality. The cowhide is nicely painted in a bright glossy brown color, matching thick nylon stitching is around the entire contour of the upper strap, which is also padded. 5 loops holding the leather bands in place with steel rivets, which look and feel solid. Steel buckles at the top and bottom are matching. The supporting metal rod that cradles your foot at the bottom sole is adjustable (extends from 16.5"-18.5"), and the gaf/spike is removable/bolted with 2 bolts. Both boots are clearly marked as Left and Right, because it's not quite obvious at first. The boots embrace my legs well, and I feel it's supported well at being fully extended. The spikes are sharp and come covered with a plastic cap.The kit comes with 2 fully assembled spike boots, 2 cross strappings with a loop/latch, fabric gloves, additional 2 emergency synthetic strappings, 4 spare bolts, alan key, and an instruction page.Important note, based on the reviews from people who tried these spikes in action, I concluded that it could be unsafe to use these if you are over 200lbs, there were several comments about the metal rod or spike fail. Having this note in mind, I want to make a disclaimer about my review pertaining to the product execution and not utility.
