For beginning learners, we suggest you start practicing using the tool from some low places (eg. below 1 meter), once you have mastered the way, it'd quite easy for you to conquer any trees. Choose a softer bark, the tree will not fall off the skin.
Guidance: Concentrate your force inward from the pair of "claws". Your hand and body always from a triangle. The climbing strength from the claws together with your climbing strength help you move upward. Please note the tree and move upward is not a correct way.
Try to choose those trees with diameter of 10 inches to 20 inches to practice. Should you start learning on trees with very hard skins, it would be quite difficult to make it.
Once you have mastered the way, you can climb any trees like a cat.

Quality for a reasonable price. Comes with everything you need to begin climbing. At my weight, 185, I felt very comfortable with this equipment. I was able to hang a bat house about 45 feet up a tree. Very happy with the quality of the rope that you wrap around the tree
