First off all gear should be checked each time before you use it. The package has an insert that says to tighten the fasteners before use. The spurs are longer than my pole spurs but worked fine for a pine tree I needed to climb to trim. The steel is thick and the pads weren't the best but they are perfectly suitable for occasional use. It has I instructions that are clear and it does seam like real leather. I don't know how the stitching could break because that shouldn't bear weight if you are using them correctly and they are tight enough. Use with a good saddle and a steel cord flip line and you are set

These tree climbing spikes are about what I expected. The leather on this gear is on the cheap side but I mean for the price it works. If you’re a tree guy using these every day they aren’t going to last you long but I’m using them once every 3-6 months and it’s perfect for that.

The fact that the first time using these almost caused the death of my husband means that these are god awful. And to be completely honest I hope that you take this a constructive and you decide to rethink your design. The fact that my husband is skilled and carful is the only reason you are not being sued . The strap snapped in half and caused him to dismount a tree at 30ft with chainsaw in hand and with ONE leg. I will definitely be getting my money back.

The foot strap broke the first time I used them. I had to cut the remaining strap and rachet strap the gaff to my boot. The harness and flip rope worked fine

The biggest issue in the kit is the spurs I was climbing and one spur hook had become loose and I lost my footing thankfully I can say the safety belt harness and cable worked as it should and saved my life but as far as the spurs bad quality there very painful to use and hurt your feet spur hook came loose on first use the roller pins on the bucket part came loose and my foot slipped out of the spur and finally the material is 100% not thick enough these have to be tight and you feel like your going rip the strap off getting it as tight as you can so you don’t slip DO NOT BUY VERY DANGEROUS

They've worked fine but the comfort level drops pretty quickly. I'm also not very trusting of the materials.

We loved how it came together as a set! However the spikes are pretty short so I you were doing tree work and tried using these then you may find yourself not going any further that day considering the spikes will only go so far , older trees they will not do the job
