** Dangerous ** 0 star ratingBought in Jan '21, began using for occasional camping Apr '21, began experiencing the locking difficulty others mentioned in Aug '21 and noticed the pictured deformed metal on my 5/8 pin. My trailer is 8400lbs. This is described as being Strong, Durable, up to class V, Safe, and "Motormic, You Can Count On Us."Nope. You CAN count on them to hide the weight rating of their product, which is far more important than what receiver it "fits" which is up to class V.I messaged the seller and RJ with Motormic responded that there is no warranty for the product (red flag) and that it is only good for up to class III, 5000 lbs. What?? I reread the item description and nowhere is this stated. I read all the customer questions and saw a few that asked about the weight capacity. Although Motormic answers many other questions, they never answer these. Worse yet, other purchasers answer the question giving incorrect info and guesses, telling people Sure, it'll be ok, I do it.To summarize, I would only recommend this product as a paper weight. I feel the company has put me in danger as well as those around me as I towed a trailer way over the (unstated) max rating all this time. If its described as fitting class V, then how can you not tell people you can't actually tow trailers up to class V weights?? For towing less, who knows what their standards are to even come up with that supposed 5000 lb rating? I now see many other reviews with stories of failure of the product.I wouldn't trust it for anything, not even a bike rack. Go with a reputable and known company.** Edit. **After I replied to them stating the above, Motormic messaged me back saying sorry for the misunderstanding and that their pins do cover up through class V trailers and they refunded my purchase.

I returned them due to one would work but on one when I took off the end to do a test in the house it would not lock back onto either shaft I had my daughter try and my husband it would not lock back on the shaft

I purchased this locking mechanism after someone stole my hitch receiver in early December 2019.It's already mid-May 2020 and haven't had any issues or problems at all with the product.I've used it to tow over 10,000 lbs and it held up strong without bending or causing any issues. The rubber rings also helped size the lock so that it doesn't rattle or play. It has supported my hitch receivers towing trailers, filled tanks (pods), vehicles, and even withstood being used as a place to secure a tow strap and pull a truck out of a ditch.I like that there's also a piece to cover the locking cylinder where you insert the key so that it doesn't get dirty or damaged. I take my vehicle off-roading, so mud gets everywhere. The locking cylinder still works flawlessly despite the barrage of debris it sees.Highly recommend this product for someone looking for peace of mind and security.

My ex girl friend had a horse trailer that I use to have to haul around for her, when we broke up she took the key to the hitch, So ive had that Tail hook on for a number of years now and decided to pick the lock the other day. Once I got the old lock off I decided I wanted to just keep the Tail Hook on my Yukon, besides its a nice deterent for some body that rides your rear to close. So I picked this set of locks up, When they arrived I was checking them out and I have to say that they were very well made and solid and instead of a straight key lock which is easy to pick it is a Barrel Lock which it a lot harder for someone to pick, The internals of the locking mechanism move smoothly and the whole lock is easy to remove and reinstall and to top it off the O rings work like a charm to keep the lock cinched up so it doesn't Rattle. Very well Made Product in my book.

Went right into place and towed with no issues. The rubber washers made this a perfect fit for my 2" hitch and the clip added an extra safety feature that makes you confident in the system. Lock was easy to engage and felt secure both before when attaching and during the tow. I like that this came with both the 5/8" and 1/2" pins and also that is completely black to go with my hitch and truck. Customer service followed up and contact me to make sure this worked for my needs and even let me know if i needed anything there were glad to help. That is always a much appreciated extra and honestly good customer service.
