First one I received, and keyed to my truck, did not work and wouldn't open. I contacted the manufacturer who said to return it to Amazon, duh! I requested a replacement from Amazon and returned the first one in the meantime.Second one keyed up to my key with no issue, and opened, yippee!I have the 2" square receiver hitch, and it worked perfectly with room to install it through the hole and lock it. One thing I did do after locking it to my hitch was to put a heavy-duty cotter pin in the groove on the lock (there was enough room) just in case.I will keep an eye on it to be sure it doesn't come loose on its own (per a couple other reviews) and follow up with any updated info after I've used it for a while. I don't trailer my side-by-side too often so it may be a while. I did watch a video of someone trying to break it off by fitting a pipe over the end, it bent a lot but didn't break like some other hitch locks they tested did.All in all, I'm satisfied with Amazon's quick turnaround and hassle-free return, and with the lock itself (so far). It's nice to not have to carry more keys to unlock it and having it keyed to my truck key means I'll always have it with me.

We have been through a number of receiver locks for our trucks because we eventually lose the key. Then we found these and have bought exactly one for each truck, because it just uses the truck door key. For anyone who hasn't realized this yet, there's a metal key hidden inside your key fob.So long as you take time to read and follow the directions this lock is easy to set up and almost fool proof. Also, remember to close the plastic flap over the key slot or you'll get road grime jamming up the lock.This style of lock is not the most secure and you can find video of them being popped open in seconds with a pry bar. But this style is very popular and this Bolt lock is as secure as any of this type. If you're going to be leaving your vehicle unattended in a high crime area you might need something stronger but we've found it good enough for many years.

This is beefier and more convenient than the master hitch lock that I replaced. Just make sure you order the correct unit for the vehicle you own. Setup was quick and easy to key it to your vehicle and no longer have to have another key for the hitch lock. Only drawback I can think of is that keying only happens once and the lock with go with the vehicle when it’s sold.

I was a bit skeptical as to how this product actually "keys" to your ignition key but so far im inmpressed. Literally all you do is insert your ignition key and spin it until it stops. Thats it, youre done. i tried my spares and they all work. just for fun i tried several different patterned keys and they do not engage the tumblers. The weather cap seals the key hole really well and i suspect this lock will work for years to come without fail. I added a small amount of grease to the cap to help prevent moisture from entering. 10/10 would buy again!

Super Easy to "program".Pain in the hoop to get out of the package (so people don't test how to "program them" no doubt).I believe you can only program it ONCE (not positive since I've tossed the package).As a receiver lock...it'll do the job for my primary tow vehicle (1/2 ton pickup). Solid locking. We'll see how it holds up against salt and the usual off the road chemistry.

This lock is matched to the ignition key of the vehicle you match it to when purchasing it. The procedure is straightforward and easy to follow. Insert the key fully, twist and done. It works great!

This is very convenient, not having to cary and store extra keys! Programming the lock with the key is an easy process, takes seconds.From the research they are also pretty resistant to tempering, however I cannot confirm or deny it as did not try breaking it myself. The lock does feel very sturdy.One thing to keep in mind is because it is bulky it might not fit for your use. I have a 06 Navigator and it does not fit easily where the hitch connects to the truck. I have an adjustable hitch so I use it on the other end and have a different lock to connect it to the truck. Just do some measuring before you order to make sure it fits.
