The D225 4mp QHD camera is outstanding. The software has all the bells and whistles ;-) and is very customizable. However, the biggest highlights are the image, audio, pet/vehicle/package/person detection quality with unlimited zone masking (you can add multiple zones per detection type). It has unlimited power options as well... powered by battery, existing door bell hardwired AC, or both (maintaining full battery as an AC power grid down fail over). It just works and is easy to setup. The D230 is a similar camera, but instead 160 degree camera/5mp instead of the D225's 180 degree camera/4mp. I prefer 160 degree, but the 180 degree works well and some people will need the fuller 180 degree coverage. Both are great.Install Tip!!!Initially, I found that connectivity to the doorbell camera was inconsistent, which I thought it might have been my WIFI signal, but instead, it ended up being that my existing doorbell 16Volt AC - 10 Amp transformer did not appear to have quite enough power. It was replaced with a 16Volt AC - 20 Amp transformer and it now works perfectly.

Packaged well and delivered on-time. Husband installed and indicated was very easy. System has no false human motion detection and has very clear view. Need to take your time and configure property if hardwired and wiring existing doorbell. READ directions and follow to your configuration setup. Rings our phone(s) when doorbell is activated. You have two alert settings when doorbell is activated. Phone ring or message alert on your phone. Remote doorbell has many ring tones via your phone software or directly on doorbell unit. We used a 64gb card in unit to avoid using Cloud recording services (fees). No fees for recordings using your own card. Great product.

I have the "Battery Only" version, and so far, it's working great! The picture quality is good and clear. Installation was straight forward, with easy-to-follow instructions. My main requirements were:1.) An external chime that plugs into a socket within the house: This ensures anyone home knows someone is at the door. I was surprised how many competitors only notify via an app.2.) No monthly subscription to avoid recurring costs.Notes:• Be sure to buy a MicroSD card if you don't have one! This is essential for viewing footage later without a subscription.• Out-of-box, the unit needs to charge for 7 hours before using.• The doorbell connects via Wi-Fi and BluetoothOther cool features:• Intercom: Speak to visitors through your phone, whether you're home or not.• Ringback: Your phone rings when someone presses the doorbell.• AI functionality and detection sensitivity zone: Customize detection for people, animals, cars, etc. and adjust the motion detection range to minimize false alerts (e.g., if your camera faces a busy street).Overall: Great product at a fantastic price when I purchased it ($50).

Our last video doorbell kept switching off and not working so got this instead and is already proving to be the best value.Easy to install, microSD card storage means no need for online subscription services, with a 256gb card will keep well over a year of recorded video clips, it can take up to 512gb!.The motion detection is fully customizable with plenty of options which make it very powerful however the interface is extremely easy to use, making it a quick and simple task to set up all important areas to monitor and ignore the areas that have constant traffic so you are not constantly alerted every time a car drives past. The included remote chime just plugs into any outlet and can be heard from anywhere in our house, battery is good for a month of use on a charge and it can run directly off the current from the original doorbell, just bypass the chime so there is a constant current.Video quality is great, slight delay but I've never seen one with true real time to your phone. No network connectivity issues at all.Oh and works with Both Android and Apple.

I'll write more below, but here's the bottom line: Yes, you should buy this doorbell. It absolutely beats the competitors in this area, including the one made by the company whose shopping platform you're using right now (rhymes with "Sing"). I can't say I'm surprised this doorbell is so good, though. TP-Link clearly thinks carefully about its products and works hard to put out high-quality stuff (I have several other items from TP-Link, and I've always been pleased at how reliable and high-quality their stuff is).Additional details:-Price point is excellent. Extremely fair.-Set up and installation are a breeze and connectivity is great.-Motion detection is great, and you can configure sensitivity and areas for detection. It also supports person detection, vehicle detection, and animal detection (each of which can be further configured with the same options, either as a group so everything has the same settings or independent from one another). I've not tested the vehicle or animal detection, but the person detection is quite good. And if you're getting false positives, you can give the doorbell feedback and it will improve. You can also, of course, tweak the sensitivity of detection. But it's nice to see TP-Link include the option to help train the doorbell. The training occurs locally, for your doorbell only (i.e., it doesn't mean your images will then be sent to the cloud or their servers and used to train their algorithms centrally; they respect your privacy).-You can opt in to their subscription service if you want cloud recording, but I specifically sought out doorbell cameras that permitted local storage only (which is what I favor). Even with local storage, the doorbell is very responsive.-Video quality is excellent. The camera also has an "auto" feature when live streaming to give the highest resolution that makes sense for your connection speed and strength at the time of viewing.-Audio quality is similarly great. It also supports different modes of talking through the doorbell. One works sort of like a walkie-talkie, and one works more like a video call. Answering doorbell rings works like a video call. But you can sneak a peek at who is at your doorbell before "officially" answering (it'll turn audio and video on on the doorbell, but keep your mic muted so they won't know you're screening who's at your door).-Battery life is good. I've seen some complaints about battery life, but I suspect this comes from people not fully charging their doorbell or using it all the time. There's no such thing as infinite battery!Bottom line: If you buy this, I'm confident you'll wonder why you didn't make the move sooner. Say goodbye to whatever competitor version you might have and come on in, the water's just fine. Or, if this is your first foray into smart doorbells, you're in for a treat with this as your introduction.
