Perfect OEM replacement. 5-minute installation. on passenger side of transmission, near the front. Just needed a 27mm box-end wrench. No room for a socket wrench.

After my reverse lights stopped working on my 5spd Manual 3gen 4Runner I replaced the original with this OEM part and it fixed the issue. Make sure to also get a new OEM crush washer if you plan on replacing this part.

Incredible... this switch changed my life. I can now backup with the best of them. It came in it's own packaging and it looked like someone packed it with care and pride. When I opened the box, my kitchen light reflected off of it, and it looked like a baby in a manger. It was a astounding reveal. I carefully took it out of the box (I mean manger)... and cuddled it with care. I carried it out to my Toyota where the two could meet each other, and build a permanent bond between them. I put it in place of my old one who was sent to the switch retirement home, where it will spend the rest of it's days remembering how it use to be the big switch of the Trans. I put the newborn switch in place (in it's little resting place), and plugged it into the truck's umbilical cord and started drinking the power that "yoda" was giving it. I gave it a kiss and said my goodbye's, and it now turns my backup lights on tirelessly and completely. It was an excellent choice of switches. Although it's the only shiny part underneath "yoda", it too will become coated with road grime and debris like it's predecessor, Grandpa Reverse Light Switch. Thank you.

Used to replace the reverse switch on my 2014 Toyota Corolla S because the reverse lights and rear camera weren’t coming on when I shifted into reverse. Toyota dealer charged $190 to diagnose for an hour and “didn’t find the problem” and was going to charge for another. Glad I gave this a shot instead, saved a lot of money in the end.

Perfect fit and perfect function. I saved a lot over purchasing this part from the dealership. Saved even more if you consider how much the dealer's service department would have charged to diagnose and fix my backup lights. This was incredibly easy to install, but I did have to purchase the right sized socket for my socket wrench (27mm). Note that ARES 70321 27mm oil sender unit socket did not fit - there was something not standard about that socket. I bought a "standard" deep 27mm socket and it fit perfectly. Easy to access on the 2003 Toyota Camry. Almost as easy as changing a light bulb!

Great deal on an OEM part. Easy 3 minute job. Took longer to grab tools and lay down blanket than unscrewing old one and inserting new one. I would recommend doing it while vehicle is cool as it is right next to catalytic converter and that gets HOT. Nice to have reverse lights again.

Easy DIY. This OEM Toyota part fits hundreds of different models. Didn't even bother testing Back-Up Light Bulbs as both mine weren't working (if only one side wasn't working I would have). I did check Fuse-#20 on driver-side instrument panel, first diagnostic I performed. Fuse was good. Switch easy to R&R (remove/repair). Remove Air Box & set aside. Remove Radiator Overflow Tank mooring bolt, move Reservoir out of the way. Wiring Harness unclipped w/ out incident. Switch takes 27-mm. (1-1/16-in.) Socket. Spritzed it w/ a little PB Blaster as it was snug. Then a metal pipe I employ as a breaker bar on the Socket Wrench. Switch came right off. Tiny bit of Lucas Marine Grease on new Switch threads. Cleaned threads in hole atop my Transmission. Bit of 3M Electrical Tape on wiring harness where its wires meet the pigtail. Snug Switch to 30-Ft.Lb. Torque. Wiring harness will only "click" snug into place when installed in its only-one-correct orientation. TESTING NEW SWITCH (manual transmission) (if you don't have an assistant!): No need to start engine. Just turn ignition key to "Accessories" setting. Turn headlights on. Slip gearshift into Reverse position. Exit RAV4 and walk back to check the happy result that your Reverse Lights are once again blazing bright. Turn key to "OFF" and down an ice-cold Kombucha or other home-brew.
